NHL 2021 Stanley Cup Playoffs / Pool Prediction Thread ~ Kentona's Redemption ~
Whoa, Tampa, slow down!!! Save some of that offence for Game 6 and a possible Game 7, no need to overexert yourselves like that.
Geez, what the hell happened to the Islanders today??? I know that there's still one more period left to go and all, but we're getting extremely close to crunch time now in the series. You can't have a game like that where you get so utterly destroyed so close to the end and expect to come out on top. (Unless this is all part of the master plan, of course, lol.)

Damn it, Vegas! You had this game literally in the bag, and you even outshot them too by almost triple and you blew it!!! More importantly, Fleury blew it. You only had to kill two more minutes in the game and you would have had it!
*sigh* Oh well... On to the next one.

Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin
I’m more confused about it more than anything (although it’s been a while since I’ve played the original Final Fantasy so my memory of it might be a little bit hazy); sooo…is this like an alternate timeline where the Warrior Of Light and his companions disappear when travelling forward in time and, while they’re gone, a bunch of other wannabe warriors basically see to it to eliminate Chaos only to end up failing in the end? Is that what’s going on???
I mean…it’s interesting, out of all the possible Final Fantasy games to make a spin-off for they decided to choose the original out of all things. I never saw that one coming.
And I don’t mind the main protagonist and how he looks and sounds (kinda looks like a younger Luxord from Kingdom Hearts), it’s just the other two characters seem a little bit outta place, especially that one pink-haired guy that acts and sounds a little bit too much like Reno there, lol.
Yeah…I wouldn’t go out of my way to purchase it on Day 1 or anything like that. And like Marrend, I need a little bit more information about it before I decide to buy or not - but I don’t think it looks THAT bad...just a strange choice to make a spin-off for.
Wait, is it NOT a spin-off but a remake instead???
If so, okay lol, then I'm even more confused.
Same, I'm surprised there wasn't any news, or even a small trailer, for Part 2 at all. I guess they're not ready yet.
Yeah, I think they might be spreading themselves out a little bit too thin with this; should be focusing all of their attention on getting the rest of Final Fantasy VII Remake done and finishing Final Fantasy XVI off. This should have been something that they should have announced down the pipeline once one or both of those games were fully completed.
I also feel bad for Nomura, he’s got SO many projects on his plate to do now.

It might be a decent hack 'n slash, but I think making this a remake of Final Fantasy 1 was a horrible idea.

Frankly, I'd rather hear news of FF7R's release to PC, or maybe Episode 2.

Did Square Enix really need another Final Fantasy game to begin with? XVI is in development, VII Remake is in ongoing development an release, what does yet another title add that people weren't already getting from the franchise?

Montreal actually played better than I thought last night. I thought that they would get destroyed in the first game because of the long layoff, first time playing in front of a massive crowd in almost a year and a half, and going against a more competent team - but they did well!
I mean…sure they did lose 4-1, so it was kinda of an ass-kicking, but it looked they could hang with Vegas in this series no problem.
Well, at least next year they're going to go back to the old format with the old divisions again (...unless another Covid outbreak happens), so everything should go back to normal for next year.
(Well...besides Seattle joining the Pacific Division and having Arizona move to the Central Division.)

Hey, the bracket doesn't make sense to begin with. The NHL doesn't follow the same thing they did before with the conferences..... It's too confusing...

I really like the monster designs, they definitely have the right look and feel to it and really capture the Lufia 2 aesthetic very well. Well done!
The battlers, though, (and maybe even the battle H.U.D.) need some more work. But this is definitely very promising.
- Are I.P. attacks still a thing?

(Addit) Yes it is! The Eternal Struggle!
Aw, man - thanks! I thought it was lost forever.
I just played a little bit of it a few hours ago to see if it still holds up and it's surprisingly still pretty good! The mapping is actually much better than I thought, too.
How Are You All Holding Up?
Is Covid still around? I HAVEN'T NOTICED.
Supposedly, where I am, they’re going to start lifting some restrictions later on in June, and even make mask use indoors completely precautionary unless a private business demands so, but our cases and death count continue to trend downwards from 1100 cases at one point a day down to less than 150 - so that’s a positive!
The only thing that’s bit a worrying is the Indian Delta variant going around. And since where I live we have a huge Indo-Canadian population, cases could be on the rise again... I sure hope not, but you never know!
I’m keeping my expectations low when it comes to anything but signs are starting to point that things might be coming back to normal sooner than expected... Which is good 'cause I'm getting tired of being cooped up!

NHL 2021 Stanley Cup Playoffs / Pool Prediction Thread ~ Kentona's Redemption ~
Still waiting on the grand master (Kentona) to make his selections, but:
For anybody else who still wants to participate, or for all those who haven't done so yet, I’ll need everyone’s Conference Finals picks in by Thursday, June 17th @ 5:00 P.M. P.S.T., 8:00 P.M. E.S.T., basically before the start of the Tampa Bay / New York Game 3.
Conference Finals:
(1) Vegas Golden Knights V.S. (4) Montreal Canadiens
(2) Tampa Bay Lightning V.S. (3) New York Islanders

Lightning over Golden Knights in 7
Whoa…! Jumping the gun a LITTLE bit too early there, bud - lol, you got both series backwards! Did you mean Montreal over Vegas in 4 and then Tampa Bay over New York In 7? (I’m thinking that’s probably what you meant.)
And speaking of which, I think it’s high time for me to finally put my picks down for the Conference Finals. This was actually a pretty tough decision…
Golden Knights Over Canadiens In 6
Obviously I have to vote for Vegas in this one in order to potentially leapfrog Kentona in the standings - and maybe even flat out just win the pool if I can get the number of games right too - but the question is...how many games will Montreal make it to??? I doubt it will go seven, or Vegas winning it in a sweep, but it could go either to five or six, and I’m picking the six in this one. I have a dumb feeling that Vegas is going to go up 3-1 in the series, then it will go back to Vegas with a chance to move on to the Stanley Cup Finals, Montreal manages to win Game 5 by the skin of their teeth, putting a little bit of doubt that Vegas can’t close out series’ when they’re up 3-1, and it even gives a Montreal a bit of a storyline that maybe they can come back from 3-1 down again, and then that’s when Vegas finally shuts the door and puts their doubters in place.
Lightning Over Islanders In 7
This one could actually go either way...but I’m sticking with the Lightning in this one. Yes, yes, the Islanders did lose to the Lightning last year in the Conference Finals, so they have a little bit of that revenge factor going in, and Victor Hedman, Tampa Bay’s best defencemen, is playing through an injury, but I still think that the Lightning should be able to win this one. (Plus, before we even did the pool, I had Vegas and Tampa Bay in the Stanley Cup Final with Vegas winning it, so I’m going to continue to stick with that.)
