NHL 2021 Stanley Cup Playoffs / Pool Prediction Thread ~ Kentona's Redemption ~
Playoff Update:
The St. Louis Blues are the first team to be eliminated in this year’s NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs as they are taken care of easily by the Colorado Avalanche in a 4 Game Sweep!
Everybody managed to pick the Colorado Avalanche in this one and receive 2 Points each in the standings. Kentona, who managed to successfully predict the sweep, earns himself an extra two for 4 Points total while UPRC also picks up an additional two for 4 Points because the Colorado Avalanche are his Stanley Cup Pick and, henceforth, receives double the points for it.
Also today, the Boston Bruins, despite a couple of close calls in this series, managed to defeat the Washington Capitals in 5 Games and move on to the second round for the fourth straight year while the Capitals have managed to lose three straight years in the 1st Round since their Stanley Cup Finals win in 2018 (ugh).
Only two participants happened to pick the Bruins in this one, as Kentona and Kory_Toombs both pick up 2 Points each for predicting that the Bruins would win the series, but it’s Kentona who manages to earn the extra two for 4 Points total for predicting that the series would go five.
The redemption of Kentona starts out strong thus far with him out to a 4 Point lead over Kory_Toombs and UPRC who are both battling it out for second. Addit, last year’s champion, is currently in last place with 6 Points behind Kentona.

What the hell, they were up 4-2 in the 3rd Period with about 8 minutes left to go and they STILL LOST!!?!?!? They even outshot the Jets as well and still managed to blow it! This team is done.

It may be too late for you to join in this round, but you can still join in the second round and still participate in the pool if you want. You can’t pick a Stanley Cup Champion and get the 2x multiplier bonus like the rest of us, nor can you receive the Ashamed Fan Award (for finishing in last place) nor the Crystal Clairvoyant and Brackcellent Awards, but you can still earn points like the rest us and maybe, potentially, still try to finish in first place and get the Connor McDavid Award. (It's possible!)
Yeah...for next year’s pool I’ll try to make an announcement about it not just on the forums as much as possible in advance, but also post about it on our Discord server as well, since the majority of users on here usually hang out over there. I'm sure that Liberty (or whoever's in charge of the server) will be fine with it.

I guess it's too late to join now (and I noticed only now that I missed last year). I need to pay more attention to rmn and time in general tbh.

Allllllright Vegas!!! Way to come back from being down 2-0 in the game to take a 2-1 series lead! (...For a minute there I thought I was on the verge of being seriously f**ked.)
Oh, and, uh...sucks about what happened to John Tavares tonight... Hopefully he’s gonna be alright… I may hate the Leafs with a passion (besides the Wild) but I never wanna see anything like that happen to one of their players, especially to one of their stars... (Although I did like seeing Matthews' face when Tavares was being stretchered off the ice and he was looking towards the heavens and probably thinking to himself, "Why, lord, whhhyyy...??? What did I, or this team, ever do to you to make you this angry; I just wanna win, at least, ONE playoff series here before I potentially f**k off to Arizona for the rest of my career! Is that too much to ask???" Lol.
So far the redemption is looking pretty solid right now! But the night is still young...

I mean… Yeah that’s not a horrible pick or anything…but I’m surprised that you didn’t go with the Oilers again, considering that they ACTUALLY look good this year and are not a two man show…unless you’ve learned from your past mistakes by picking them before. (And then watch the Oilers go on a run and make it all the way to the Stanley Cup Finals when you don't happen to pick 'em, lol.)
