Oh yeah…! Cosplay Crisis! I remember that game! (I knew that name sounded familiar!)

I always thought that this game had an AMAZING idea with the whole cosplay thing, where ordinary people would dress up as the characters from said games, and then become those said characters in it, but it’s wasn’t executed very well and ended up being more confusing than it should be. (Granted I haven’t played this game in a while, nor its spiritual successor in ReCrisis, so I could be missing somethings.)

I kinda wish that it was just four friends that go to a Final Fantasy convention, shit happens, and then they’re drawn into the worlds of these said games and become the new main characters in it, effectively changing the course of the events of the games now that the original heroes are gone / or are presumed dead. Maybe the villains happen to team-up together and discover that these people, who claim to be their adversaries, come from another world entirely that they try to cross into and try to conquer it. But the flipside is that magic doesn’t work in the real world compared to their own respective worlds, so they have try something else – I dunno.

Still…it’s an interesting experiment that I’m sure Puddor has learned a lot from. And I would love for her to revisit this concept someday in a future game.

Good review, though! It’s nice to take a trip down memory lane again.

(Also, you didn’t happen to get the Ragnarok stuck on the overworld, did you? That happened to me once when I played and reviewed this game some years back and I was p**ed!)

Keep in mind that Kentona was absolutely SENSATIONAL in the First Round, going 6-2 with 4 of those picks being perfect, and then he proceeded to go 0-6 in the Second Round and Conference Finals - combined - with him needing Tampa Bay to win in 5 Games, in the Finals, in order to have any chance at all of tying me for first place in the end - and he actually managed to squeak it out JUST barely! A prediction that I managed to make at some point, during the pool, that actually came true!

But, still, a win’s a win no matter how much you manage to slice it. And Kentona definitely deserved to get something out of it in the end, and I’m glad that he did!

And, yeah, now that NHL Playoffs will be returning back to its original format and starting in the Spring again – I’ll definitely let all of you guys know in advance on here and on Discord before it starts up again for next year, alright? It would be nice to have some more participants for next year other than just the four of us, even if some of those participants just guess blindly.

(Although...that did work quite well for Kory that one year when he actually did that, lol.)

As for the background, it's just an experiment, I don't intend on using it. I just wanted to see how it would look if it was re-colored.

Really? That’s a shame, I really like the background.

And are you sure about doing animated monsters? I know that Lufia: The Ruins Of Lore had animated sprites for the party members and such, but not so much for the monsters, as they just sort of shuffled back and forth in place. It just seems like a lot of unnecessary work to do, especially if you’re trying to capture the more Lufia 2 type of style and feel to it. But, it’s up to you.

And as for duel techniques, although it would be pretty interesting to see how the Lufia series would handle something like that in addition to IP attacks, the only downside to it is that a lot of players might compare the mechanic to Chrono Trigger and think of it as strictly a Chrono Trigger like thing, so they might call you out on it.

Either way, whatever direction you decide to go, I can't wait to see more!
