Notable differences between VX and VX Ace
Advantages of Ace:
- You can use as many tilesets as you like, whereas VX allows just one page of custom tiles. You can mix and match the tilesets without having to create a different image, too.
- Charaset generator for the lazy. Makes ugly faces which don't fit in with the RTP, but it's good if you don't have any other choice.
- Uses a more up-to-date script language. Not that I know much about scripting, but newer language-y stuff has to be better, right?
- Regular battle attacks/guard/etc. can be changed more easily through the skills page in the database without the use of scripts.
- Overall nicer RTP. The chipset is a bit prettier, but the issue with VX and Ace is the hideous sand border around everything.
- Shadow pen. Use to draw shadows on by yourself by each quarter of a tile. VX only lets you use premade shadows in the form of tiles which take up that tile entirely. Ace doesn't do that, and treats it as a different thing entirely.
- Better skill and equipment effects which go into extreme depth on exactly what each thing does, its elements, debuffs, other stuff..
- New music and sounds. Always good.
- Can make party members have special abilities if they're in the party. For example, double drop rate, extra gold from monsters, never be attacke preemptively..
I recommend getting the trial to check it out, though. I haven't listed everything here, just the stuff I really liked.

I'mma be a Britfag and admit that my favourite snack is probably a cream tea, which is basically just homemade scones with jam and clotted cream, preferably accompanied by tea. I wish I could be bothered to bake more often.. Tea is pretty much my life force, though. I can't survive without it. I'm pretty sure I used to drink it as an infant. :S

Intro
You need to make an event on the same map as your hero's starting position as an "autostart" event. Then plop in all you want to say, like, "IN THE BEGINNING, THERE WERE ONIONS" or something. Then flip a switch on that starts the next page and stops the event from repeating itself.

Cool, glad they're okay! And ugh, yeah.. that generator is okay and all, but the mouths and facial expression are horrific. Thankfully it's not too difficult to fix them up in Gimp.

That is the point. I want the player to be able to self insert.
I'd like to self insert into that if you know what I mean..
If you don't, I mean I'd really like to empathise with your character. In all seriousness and tacky puns aside, this is pretty nice looking!
