i don't think this game takes place in the 21st century. i heard there was some sexism in medieval times

If she decides she wants me to pay her, I'm all for it. She's done a fabulous job and is an extremely talented artist. I feel privileged to have her help.
In all fairness, she did do a lot of work for this game, and I think it helped bolster the game's exposure bigtime. But if she offered to do it for free, then there's really no grudge to be had here. Tricky situation!

disgusting that this logic needs to be spelled out. the difference is obviously that the chance those old games had to make money and gain recognition has over a decade passed, using their assets will not impact them creatively or financially in any way and can actually rekindle appreciation for long-forgotten works, whereas using original graphics from a contemporary indie game cheapens their product in the HERE&NOW
