Take Down : Lambs of Destiny Review

I just ran through the game, granted I set myself up at lv 99 to do it, and I honestly have to say that I've got no strong feelings about this game one way or the other.

The mapping was anywhere from basic and understandable, to downright horrible. The writing, although I shift clicked past most of it after a skim read, was reasonable but suffered from simple spelling errors such as "mercinary". I had to extend my cheating an extra step to fight Samus, I mean, Nara, since my char was at 999 HP, and she was dealing over 900 per hit, which led me to believe that it was an intentional loss. This belief was demolished when the game over screen reared its ugly head.

I was tempted earlier on to just delete the game, as it didn't grip me for the first few minutes of the game. One of the main problems was the UNBEARABLY slow movement speed while carrying the heavy sack. Going down one speed is fine, but more than that and it's borderline deal-breaking. If it wasn't already too late, I would have suggested that the maker of the game use midis, or make a midi version, as I felt that over 230MB (?) of music alone was far too excessive for a 50-70+ map game.

If the sequels are anything like this game, I'd have to give it a miss, as, although it was somewhat entertaining (only slightly), it wasn't enough to draw my attention deep enough to give each scene a good read through.

2nd beta tester and final trek!

When you mean that there won't be a "testing process" for the final mission, you ARE going to take time to test run through it mercilessly to ensure that no bugs remain before declaring the game completed for life, right?

I understand, and the video has been taken down. To be honest, it was garbage, and would probably do best thrown away.

I am still unable to delete my unused game-pages and blogs.

To be blunt, a video of RTP characters running around with Three Days Grace is just as appealing as a Linkin Park AMV.

Glad to know you think so...

Would it have been better had I used all of the overused ripped graphics and did the same thing?

Though, have you ever even played the game? Do you know what's supposed to be going on in the video.

Realizing this mistake, I'll make sure to fix it during the next edit.

2 versions of the game

Then perhaps it's time to find someone who can. Besides, were you able to get that battle clock working?

Why not have it all in colour and have an option to edit the tone.

Surely that'd be too difficult. Instead of setting a screen tone and using fade in/fade out for transitions, it must have been better to just make two different versions. :D

I kid, I kid. Seriously, why not just do that? Just ask the player at the beginning of the game whether or not they want to use color or not, and whether or not to show monsters and battle backgrounds. Sure, you'd have to make a terrain that some monsters appear on and not others, and then copy/paste every monster type and group to allow for a blank graphic version, followed by a terrain switch that checks what game selection has been chosen, but it'd probably look better than having two different versions for such a small change.
