DARK GAIA'S PROFILE

I develop games and I write. I have a Bachelor of Arts in creative writing and journalism. I like writing speculative fiction, horror and literary fiction, sometimes all blended together. You can find elements of my writing in my games, because I consider my games to be stories just that happen to have gameplay.

I post updates on my Facebook and Twitter:

To be honest, I think everyone tries to make that epic game right from the outset. I know I did... and I failed horribly. That game was absolute garbage.

On First Projects

Legionwood wasn't my first project. There were a few games that came before it, now thankfully wiped from existence.

Sorry, I don't have a Steam account, so I can't. Feel free to copy and paste it there if you want though :)

On First Projects

Exactly what I'm trying to say. When I started Legionwood, I'd had RPG Maker VX for only two days. This accounts for why the first few builds were crap.

On First Projects

Well, the point is that your first projects were simple. As you said, they weren't long and were mostly full of default stuff. You were still learning the program.

On First Projects

Oh yes, I completely forgot about that. I was mainly trying to address the issue of newbies simply opening up the program and trying to make Final Fantasy XIV right off the bat with no experience. I'll edit the article and include a suggestion to try the games of others, too.

Quick Guide for Random Dungeons

Good tutorial. I too don't mind the random dungeon generator (I used it heavily in Legionwood) and this is pretty much the process I go through whenever I use a random dungeon in my game.

RMN Snews - Issue #8

Umm... Maybe Prophecy: Demon Kingdom and One Night 2: The Beyond (yes, I am aware that is my own game) should be considered for the list, as they have both garnered much attention on many sites both within and outside of the RM community and have both been featured on magazine cover discs for real gaming magazines.

How Gaia Thinks: Horror Games 101

Well, of course some people are harder to be scared than others. But I have recieved many PMs and posts from people who found my games scary, and these are the tactics I used which I thought I'd share.
