+++ DynRPG - The RM2k3 Plugin SDK +++

Say, Cherry. Do you know if it's possible to remove the number of MP needed to use an ability completely? so it doesn't show "- 0"? Just for an individual skill (field skill). Or does it affect the whole skill database if you remove the parameter?

So, RMN, what do you guys like to eat for snacks?

I'm not sure what you mean. :)
For DynRPG, you write *.dlls, which because of the patch, your RPG_RT is aware of and has access to. The dlls are presumably native machine language that gets called and injected into the standard flow of execution (e.g, callbacks) in your RPG_RT. That means to use a plugin it's literally a matter of simply copying/pasting the dll into your DynPlugins folder.

Oh, I see. I ask because I'm trying to edit the way the default menu works in RPG Maker. I'm trying to edit it, so that when I add something like a HP+50 Item, it updates WITHIN the menu, instead of you having to exit. I'm also trying to get the parameters to show aswell. Like while choosing to adjust your HP amount, it'll say something like "HP: 207 > 257" or "HP: 207 > 157"

I also want to get rid of that dumb blank space in the menu. I'm trying to add my own custom parameters within it. (Soul Fragments, Time Played, Steps Taken).

Also I want to get rid of the " - XX" which is shown on the end of skills when selecting them. So I can replace them with traits and field abilities.

How to end a Show Picture

Make sure that the picture isn't being shown by a seperate event with the "Parallel Process" or "Autostart" boxes ticked. Show the picture within the cutscene, and close it within the cutscene.

You shouldn't need switches. Also you might want to make sure you have the "Erase Picture" event command when you want the picture to disappear. Simply fading the screen won't make it shade. You need to Erase the picture first.

The DynRPG patch isn't an RPG_RT one. It literally just installs the patch onto your game and that's it. If you're that concerned you can always back up your project, and then test out the DynRPG patch. I'd highly advise you install it. It adjusts various errors RPG Maker 2003 had in general.

What do you mean by random key code? Do you mean the key code from the DynRPG patch Cherry made? Or the actual engines Key Input Process function?

With the new Keyboard and Mouse input .dll Cherry made for 2k3, I'm beginning to event an encounter system like 13-2's.

In my project, enemies have a high chance of always see you. Whether they're facing you or not. so I decided to find a way that the player could earn pre emptive strikes still. I iz calling it, "The Essence Catch" system. Which involves a player pressing a key to access a "battle stance mode" which enables you to "link your essence with the enemies" in an attempt to draw them into combat and have the chance to hit the enemy before it hits you. Using this method, you also gain points which go toward my Skill Grid system too. That's not to say you have to do this every time, but you miss out on a chance to get points.

This mode has a time limit to it, and replenishes over time, or by force using items. Though the recharge time by foot is rather fast. Items are just in case you travel long distances in it. This same mode is also used on the general maps to make the player progress through certain areas. I.E using Essence Capture Mode on an ancient statue to reveal a previously blocked way.

Making Pictures Adequate for RM2k3(Help!)

I personally prefer Charactermaker 1999 or Photoshop CS5. Mostly Charactermaker because it is a swift creation or conversion. I open it in Charactermaker, and save it as a .png. Easy. Make sure the first colour of the palette is the colour you want to see transparent. If not, character maker can change it via the Palette editor function.

I see, well I'm not such a massive spriter (but rather a good sprite editor / frankenspriter). My mapping is pretty good too (to what people have told me) are you looking for map creators, or just mappers in general?

Editing more visual based stuff for Sealed Link. I also recently finished event sequencing my characters voices, so when they get hit, they make sounds. Or when they enter battle, ect. It was... a grueling task, but its done now. Now to work on tutorials, and finally get to work on the main core of my game.
