Fidchell "Let's Trying" Again

Okay, well I'm done playing Perseverance..except not really. After a recent playthrough, I've kinda been put off, and since the game isn't really done yet, I've decided I'm going to wait until it's finished. Still, though, I'm not sure if I'll go back to doing videos of it, but we'll see. You guys should see the last video as well; towards the end, it gets quite hilarious.

Bizarre, overall I'd say you've clearly put a lot of effort into the game, but in the later portion of the second half, I feel it has taken a bit of a nosedive. The environments and aesthetics are not very consistent, and the art itself also lacks consistency in quality, which is a big turn-off in my eyes. The gameplay is a little awkward and the lag is horrendous, but you've told me you're fixing it, so that's good. What I suppose I can admit I did like is the colorful cast of characters, although their dialogue is not that great, and as I said before, I'm impressed with the effort put forth in this project. Either way, please do finish it and touch it up where it needs touching up.

I'll be moving on to Craze's project, so look out for it.

Just saw this, but 5 to 8 hours? Maybe if you know every secret and racing through the game. Myself took probably close to 20 hours, and the YT video for this game was maybe shy of that by a few hours.

To be honest, when I first played it, I was expecting something around the 10 hour mark and was surprised for how long the game was, but with all the story and adventuring packed into it, it's no wonder.

I suppose the reason I said 5-8 hours is because that's usually how long it took me...but then again I'm the creator so I know what to do and where everything is.

http://rpgmaker.net/games/3758/Do you...want to Let's Try it again? Some issues were fixed from last time, but only some. Maybe you'll be able to get past the 2nd actual dungeon of the game this time too. >_> <_<

Ah, hello again. :P I'm not sure if I've played your redo back then, but how much was changed since my last thread?

How complete do the games have to be? Released state or like a beta?

Doesn't really matter to me. Just make sure it works!

I seem to remember bugging you about this before

You actually have, but unfortunately it was pretty far down the list and I gave up before I could get to it.

Fidchell "Let's Trying" Again

Well, guys, it's that time again.

After a very long break I am going back to doing Let's Tries of RPG Maker games. Yippee! The ways things work this time is that anyone out there wanting to see your game played and dissected will post in this thread, but instead of taking everything and putting it in a queue, I will pick and choose what I wish to play, and there is no specific order going on here.

When I pick a game, I will of course play it, but a Let's Try indicates that I won't finish it; sometimes this won't be the case. If your game grabs my attention enough, I will actually turn it into a full-on Let's Play and try to get through the whole thing. There is no real limit to what I will accept. I will play from engine 2000 to VX ACE and I will play any genre. When I make a video I will be requesting permission to post it under your game's Media tab, so watch out for that.

There's nothing much more to say about this, so go ahead and start posting your wonderful game! Just be prepared because I'm not all about praising a game if it doesn't actually deserve it seeing as how I can be quite critical when it comes to RPG Maker games. Despite this I will attempt to give the best feedback I am able. I may also never pick up your game, so there's that too. D: (I will add all chosen games to my Play List)

EDIT: Oh right I should probably post a link to my channel huh? https://www.youtube.com/user/JakeSpringhorn

Wild Wings: First Flight Review

Hey, Amerk, thanks a lot for the review. You've brought up a lot of valid points. :) I guess I can only polish this game so much before I have to move on. I'm going to make an attempt to fix the slime portal crash you've spoken of. Are there any other game-crashers you can think of?

Also, have you given the first episode of the sequel a try or are you waiting for the full release?

The Rare/Obscure RM Games Request Topic

I don't know if anyone remembers this one. It's pretty obscure. There was a game made in RM2003 that involved choosing one of three or four characters and you were pit against an army of gangsters with a pretty sweet action battle system. It was in a different language, can't remember which one exactly. It was also pretty gory.

A shame you haven't received more comments. I just finished the first game and will be doing a review hopefully in the next few days. Hopefully this post will show you that there are people who do want you to continue and finish the sequel.

That is very kind of you to say, thank you! Don't worry, I'm still working regularly on the game, just have a lot of things on my plate, and this game itself is pretty large.

Slip into Ruby part 3: Making a Scene continued.

Once I finish the bestiary tutorial, what aspects of programming/particular systems would people like me to cover next?

If nobody has any suggestions what I may do is do a line-by-line analysis series on the default scripts explaining what they do.

That sounds like an excellent idea actually. It would greatly help to show us how things operate and would certainly show the many different aspects and uses of RGSS.

Slip into Ruby part 3: Making a Scene continued.

These should be useful considering I'm trying to learn Ruby from the ground up elsewhere as well. Thanks for posting!

this isn't isometric, it's more like oblique projection, but hey I really like all screens here! <3

This project looks good.

Aiee, you're right. Just didn't know what the terminology for this was exactly. Will change that now.
