My name's Kasey Ozymy. I'm a game designer from Texas. I made Jimmy and the Pulsating Mass and am currently working on Hymn to the Earless God.

A Very Long Rope to the Top of the Sky
Yeah, that's some more VX wonkiness. I can't tell you how happy I am to be working in Ace now. There's still some wonkiness, but I always seem to be able to make it work out. Maybe it's just more experience on my end.
Also, the conversation between you two was pretty cool to see. Isolation is the central theme of the game, so I love that it came up.

You can climb beanstalks (not pictured) and walk on the clouds, so they still needed to be functionally shaped. They could be both, I suppose, but I'm intentionally avoiding angles to make it feel more game-y, free up more dev time/tile sheet space, and distance the art from Earthbound's a bit more. I am thinking about adding little things to give them a bit more features, though.

Yeah, Lucas and Nox both can give sermons. You have to get all of the people that form their congregations in order to activate their scenes. The gaping hole will remain forever, though. And, yeah, you can get some more recipes in Genghis's shop after a certain point in the game.

He must think he's really marvelous.
He certainly does. Would you believe that Mr. Marvelous isn't even his real name? It's hard to tell when he's just that marvelous.

I absolutely love how the trees and clouds look, and the whimsical feel of everything ^_^
Thanks! I'm trying to make it look like a big cartoon.

@Xenos:
-Regarding the crystal count: that's my bungle; I tried to hotfix another problem and forgot about that dialogue. (Edit: Hmm...they both say two in my version; maybe I fixed this but never uploaded this version)
-The ruins aren't specified as anything, but the teleporter is right there, so that was clearly a point of intrigue, so it makes sense that someone would try to build around it.
-Holiday is a character you get pretty late, and I think I would have had her go to agricultural, but you need max agricultural to get her in the first place, so I didn't have her count for anything.
-Lifeblood Necklace gives you a passive regen in battle. It has no visual indicator because VX is a piece of crap, but it heals the same as the slip damage from poison. I also think it gives a slight heal on step that's fairly negligible. Again, VX is crap.
-Yes, those things do improve food production. Each time you get a new person in each section, your production rate goes up by 1/5th; upgrading increases by the same rate. This effect is multiplicative.
-People either think Minerva is batshit or great depending on whether or not they saw the scene with Minerva's mother in the childhood arc.
-The perfume upgrade is the only thing you can get; the rest is just an excuse to have townspeople interact, haha.
-Right; "Throat" refers to the forest/swamp sections.
-Like Furipu mentioned, there are three of those buildings in Polaris, so you might be missing one chest from those (other than the phase claw/earth amulet). There's a chest that's not as good upstairs in the library that's easy to miss as well.
-Silence not blocking buffs is another bit of VX wackiness. Think of it as a free gift from Enterbrain to make your battles easier.

The verbose elocutionist isn't a cruel joke; he's my favorite enemy in the game, haha. Also, it looks like I missed some questions from you earlier, Xenos:
1) Yep.
2) Yeah, Corona Lucis can only be reached via the Old Avishunian teleporter. You can't teleport to that teleporter since, well, you just have to walk south on the world map for a bit so it didn't seem necessary.
3) When you first get the teleporter, I believe you have access to every location but two. You unlock these locations naturally as the game progresses. They are:

Also, a couple map questions, 1) Is the building in the water near Solomon's Furrow the teleporter you use later? 2) So, Corona Lucis doesn't exist on overworld maps, and so isn't reachable by the universal teleporter, only through the old avishunian one? (that also isn't mentioned in the Sanctuary list, I believe)
How does Sanct. teleporter's list expand?
1) Yep.

-The reflecting pond, which is unlocked after you see Raccoon's Soul Tear scene.
-Ubiquity, which is unlocked as soon as you get to Ubiquity.

Progress Report
Whew, that makes me feel better! I've definitely already learned a bunch of stuff with tilesets. Every once in a while I learn a new trick on GraphicsGale and I think: "Well, this would have saved me hours."

-Yeah, the equipment system is just RMVX's default thing, so that's an inherent broken thing unless I were to use a script, which I'm hesitant to do for stubborn personal reasons.
-I kept mat costs low because I didn't really want the player to sell them in the first place, but good observation; it would make sense to give them some value beyond their use in recipes.
The Squab Bow is in Snow Wolves' Pass. It's one of the items that's on the mountain with the timer and caves that you have to duck into in order to not freeze to death.
-Nice typo find. It's now fixed in my version.
-If Genevieve and Emil got together during the childhood arc, they'll always come together (Genevieve only joins when you talk to Emil; if you talk to her in the university, she'll just have some dialogue). The only way you can recruit them separately is if they don't get together, and Emil will be in Dragon's Throat.
-You can have 99 of any item, including stat-boosting nuts.

I kept Pallance pretty ambiguous, so he's an aspect of the game that isn't tied up with a neat little bow. He's very, very old, though. I probably should have given him a town interaction with Prim or Mag to round him out a bit now that I think about it.
