Yeah, you're right. Half of it is that Mint gets idealized by Ivy (the flower that always looks beautiful in the book) so that she's always pristine in memory even though she's dead, but, as you've noted, everyone else--mainly Ivy--is pretty crippled by Mint dying so young.

Fighting depression and being demotivated. Though, I guess the latter could follow the former? I dunno. I guess I only really know that absolutely nothing of value is going to happen today.
That was yesterday for me. The idea of mapping/tiling a 40+ hour rpg was pretty overwhelming, summer's over so I have to start grading tomorrow, and my sister wants me to play guitar at her wedding, so I have to arrange and learn 30 minutes of music that is in a style I'm not comfortable with and don't really enjoy this month. Meanwhile I'm THIRTY and I have this constant loop in my head saying, "YOU SHOULD PROBABLY GET INTO A MEANINGFUL RELATIONSHIP AND GAIN SOME FORM OF CAREER SUCCESS SOON."

Thanks! One of the cool things about giving updates like this is it lets me hone characters' voices before I start writing the dialogue; I didn't expect that going in, but it's pretty sweet.

Yeah, the 4kids version is an embarrassment. I think One Piece and Hunter X Hunter are the best shonen stuff out there, so if you like the genre at all, they're must-sees/reads. I'd make sure to watch One Piece at least up through the Arlong arc; that was about when I felt hooked.
