[Design/Marketing] Why so secretive?
author=JosephSeraphauthor=InfiniteWoosh. This is bad. Because, as a dev, I feel I must keep in touch with my audience and show them what I'm doing constantly in order to captivate them and have them play my game when it is done. If I don't do it, nobody will know it's done!
But I definitely feel the negative side effects of this!
One of the points made in the video is how it can be okay to share your goals, as long as you are aware of the tricks your mind can play. Sharing in such a way that suggests there is still work to be done, is a kind of reverse psychology tactic that can be helpful.
I look to the countless Demos that never graduate to full games. People release their demo, feel like they've accomplished something, and lose motivation to actually complete their game.
Everyone is different though; you may be energized and motivated when someone compliments your ideas and ambitions, but others may feel validated and never act on them.

author=Crystalgateauthor=SoozThat is a problem I have heard actually exist for many people with talking about your work. It can make you less exited as you said, but I have also heard that it can make you erroneously feel that actual work has been done even though it hasn't.
Yeah generally the stuff that gets swiped is finished because thieves are generally disinclined to do actual work.
I tend to play my cards close to my chest only because I find that giving out too much info makes me less excited to put a work out.
Being secretive may actually be a good idea, not because of danger of stealing, but because giving out to much can stop you from doing the actual work.

My guess is many of those posts are from kids who don't know any better. They get their hands on Rpg Maker, form an idea, and think the game will create itself. When they realize it's harder than they thought, they come looking for help from artists, composers, programmers, etc.

author=SatedIt's sand, converting it from game, to video, to gif, janked the color a little bit. It's more yellowish in the game. I added little puffs of smoke around the base as it rises, nothing too crazy, but it does add to the effect, thanks!
Infinite, you should add ground/dirt/grass being displaced around the head. Assuming that is grass.
EDIT:
Here is the boss of that dungeon!

@Infinite
That's not the most exciting boss design I've ever saw, to be honest.
I was thinking about adding a sinister jack-o-lantern face like

Whatcha think of his attack patterns? Any ideas?
Demon Dreams
author=Animebryanauthor=InfiniteAny plans on expanding the game with those other 2 areas?author=AnimebryanYeah... This was a game I made in my teen years back in 2004. There are only 3 of the planned 5 areas.
Why does the status of the game say 'Hiatus'? Does that mean it's incomplete?
(browser lagged and ended up posting this twice)
I've considered remaking, or creating a sequel in VX ace, to make use of the original assets. But for now I'm focused on my new project "Ascending Dreams".
