Why does the status of the game say 'Hiatus'? Does that mean it's incomplete?

Yeah... This was a game I made in my teen years back in 2004. There are only 3 of the planned 5 areas.

Grinding in RPGs

Well, my definition of "grinding" is running in circles waiting for random encounters... I think it's flawed design in some scenarios. In a game like Pokemon, when you're looking to catch a certain Pokemon it's fair, but when you need to level up to beat a Gym leader, it sucks. Being forced to grind to make progress is not fun. If it's to achieve some type of side goal, then it's not as bad.

I played this back when it was first released and have to say I was very impressed. I wouldn't say it's perfect, since it's tile based and I remember pulling my hair out on one of the bosses, but it's still a crazy amazing game, implemented better than I thought was possible for rm2k3, and was worth my time playing through. Glad to see it return.


Nice Thanks! Happy to see I'm not the only one still around from back then! I know the tile based movement was a problem for me too, I tried my best to make it work, I may try to go in and reduce the boss's health if enough people complain. I sorta "whitewashed" the names of the all the game's switches, variables, and common events which may maker it harder to work on the game, but something like boss health should be easy enough to find. I may throw in something like modern health regeneration too.

My new project "Ascending Dreams" is being built in VX Ace and uses Quasi's Pixel movement, I'm loving it so far!

You should stick to one outline for all characters, it's pretty weird with a dark outline for the vulture when the main characters outline blends with the bg.
