Been working on a character creation thinger. Using it to kill a few birds with one stone: A) Finally learn some network programming. B) Expand my GUI module a bit. C) Revisit an old idea for fun. Below the image is a clip of what I've done over the last few evenings.

Right now the Save button just sends the character data to a server, which the server then just acknowledges but does absolutely nothing with. Some new additions to my code base: A) Text input boxes in my GUI module. B) Parallax scrolling backgrounds.

Just some cursory work on a character generator. Select a sprite, modify its colors.

Added a few things to it this morning which aren't in the video, like the default palette being sorted by hue which makes it easier to pick out the right colors to modify. Also finally got around to adding an InputBox() widget to my GUI module, because for whatever reason I just never got around to it--so you can name characters and whatever. Also never added a slider widget, which I think I'll do today so I can have RGB sliders for specific colors. And I think I'll add a specific "skin tone" column to the presets since it's hard to pick them out as they are.

I'd love to Get Eiko's stuff though. I don't love her as a character, but from what I've read she's pretty strong (and I really like Bard skills -- <3 Thancred <3 )
Eiko is super, and only got replaced by Yuna because I got Yuna's Lullaby Rod during that Lucky Draw period. And even with Yuna, I've run some parties that have Eiko as well since she can drop Maduin bombs while boosting the magic of the entire party with bard songs... Or she can play white mage while Yuna uses summons and emergency heals with Hymn of Fayth. Not to mention she has one of the best default limit breaks ever, which frees up a Shellga slot. Very versatile character that fits a niche nobody else can--and the latter always makes it worth training them up for that special occasion. Really, any mage-oriented party will easly find a slot for Eiko--I just used her this morning in my Four Fiends-busting party in FF4 elite (working towards some of those memory crystals).
And I do like her character, since she's always in my final party for FF9 I've developed some attachment there, though my heart aches for Freya, who is my favorite FF9 character. I hope Freya's best limit break is the wind dance. Amarant is never in my FF9 party, though Brickroad swears by him.
Anyway, yesterday's XP daily was pretty dope. Almost 100k XP per stage. Very amusing to have FuSoYa go from Lv1 to Lv16 in a single stage.

Crushed the bonus battles. Am I crazy or are most boss rushes at least four stages long? This one seemed really short.
Also, I've done all of the classic dungeons and am up to 80 Mythril, so I'll have plenty to pull on FF8 and FF9. Sort of considering pulling twice on FF9 and skipping FF8. Not sure yet. I should probably check what the relics for FF8 are.
And... I checked. I think I will pull on FF8's first set, and then FF9's second set. FF9's first set is just as good, but I already have a decent FF9 dagger so I'd rather go for the mage weapons and also avoid Amarant's fist weapon.

Changed my mind about pulling on the FF5 event. After doing some FF5 story elites I realized my synergy was really quite excellent--I just never noticed because there are never FF5 events.
The main thing is I forgot I had that Genji stuff and assumed all of my good FF5 armor was for mages which I don't really have the weapons to support--got massive amounts of mileage out of that Hypno Crown during the first few months when all I could pull was light armor. So I can field a pretty good physical damage team, including a bow for a support character like Wakka (who can also wear that Genji Helm).
Instead I'll do a pull on FF8, which is worse than I thought and I can't field a complete team in FF8 gear--even if the items I do have are quite good. To compare, these are my 3++ and better items for each realm:

So while I have a high percentage of 5-star items, I have very few items overall to support a team. Most of my FF8 gear is 2++ from previous FF8 events, but those are too weak to be useful.

author=CrazeI'm 326/350 on inventory space right now, because I keep everything--and I'm empty on upgrade materials right now. All of the mythril that doesn't go towards relic pulls ends up here. I've used less than 5 mythril for refreshes or redos.

my ff9 synergy is... ...... the Power Belt from the Eiko event. That's... literally it. g-guess i'll do a pull or two. i don't even like zidane/amarant though :<
How do you have no items? You should at least have Brigandine, Stardust Rod, and Mage Staff. Do you sell everything? I keep one of everything, no matter how shitty it is. And don't underestimate 3++ items when they have realm synergy. They're generally competitive with and usually better than 5-star items without synergy.
And speaking of keeping shitty items, I got a new shitty item today: Iron Armor (2* FF4). Never seen one before--got it out of my common draw today, which is usually a Bronze Bangle (1* FF7), it seems like.

The + dungeons with two myth to get are Monday (mats/orbs), Wednesday (gil/orbs), Friday (mats/orbs), and Saturday (gil/orbs). Tues/Thurs/Sun are one myth each.
I really really should do a few pulls on FF9 -- I don't think I have ANY synergy worth damn
The only daily I've memorized is Sunday, because it's generally the only one I do.
And looking at my FF9 items now, it's not as bad as I thought, actually, but still pretty poor. And I think the mage weapons were from the last FF9 event, so I anticipate I'll be able to merge them into 3++ during the Zidane/Amarant event, since rewards tend to get duplicated. I guess I could look the rewards up.

I've at least got that 4+ Gladius and 5-star Adamant Vest to work with, so Zidane will have something nice out of the gate.
I found the FF13 bonus battles to be pretty easy as well. Snow put his dad pants on and tanked Shiva's multi-hit abilities, and between Protectga, Sentinel Guard, Power Break, and Full Break, Alexander didn't even tickle. I didn't bring cure magic for any fight except the boss rush.
Also, how is it that I have like 60 total RWs that are either Sentinel Guard, Stoneskin 2, Boon, or Lunatic High... and I can still manage to have a set of RWs without at least one of those appearing? I should calculate the odds.
For the current even I'm about 40 stamina away from finishing Ice Dragon and then I'll be able to work on clearing story dungeons out. Last I finished was FF4 White Dragon (Classic), which I think was two dungeon updates ago so I have some catching up to do. Currently one shard shy of 130 stamina.

I'm always a bad judge of how much mythril I can expect to acquire. I have 55 right now. I'm thinking I'll be able to pull for FF5 and then have enough again for FF9. My FF5 synergy is decent while I have nearly nothing for FF9, so I don't want to pull on FF5 if it'll prevent me from getting good FF9 items. Skipping FF8 because I have better items there than FF5, and skipping this current event because my FF6 synergy is my best.
