Custom Game Engine

Hey, that's pretty cool looking! Got a couple of questions for you, though:

1) What's the number of parallax backgrounds you can have? I remember the sheer depth effect one could have on the old Super Nintendo.

2) What's the maximum color depth of the engine? It looks 16-bit, but I could be wrong.

3) Is this a full engine, including map, character, and event editor? Or is it more of a map editor with a scripting language built in? OR is it more of a library?

4) What kind of collision detection does it utilize? Pixel or bounding box?

5) What kind of audio support are you building in there?

Heh, sorry to flood you with questions, but I've always found game engine development to be so fascinating. :)

Hey that hurt! :( I did ok with the Heroine Isayana games and the Laxius Power ones. But I think I do pretty good for a 42 year old woman. My son trys to find me good RPG's to play since I'm home all the time.

Don't worry about Fallen-Griever. His avatar of some guy getting his gonads pushed inwards pretty much spells out his level of warm and fuzziness. ;)

Hey all

You've already commented on my game's board, so I know ya already. But regardless, welcome aboard!

Lost Legacy: An Animania Story

I wouldn't classify it as a fangame, although I'm sure others would. It uses characters from other sources in the anime/video game genre to tell an original story. It seemlessly integrates those characters a setting different from their native setting, into situations different than there native situations. So no, I cannot classify it as a fangame.

Oh yay, mentioned! But I hope one day I'm taken more seriously than just a mapping guy. But still, yay!

Your Own "WTF" Moments

I bought a keyboard a few months ago, a shiny pretty new one from HP, complete with that little dial at the upper right for the volume for music. So I get my new keyboard all plugged in and start typing away on <insert random unimportant thing here>, but realize my hands are dry. So I put some lotion on them and take a few minutes to let the lotion soak into my hands. Apparently, the ink on the keyboard's keys, or the lotion composition, or the alignment of the freaking stars, SOMETHING was bad because I started typing on the keyboard, only to notice a few minutes later that there was white stuff on my fingers. I look down, and to my horror, most of my keyboard keys are now characterless.

Talk about your touch-typing!

Does anyone know any 2D MMORPGs?

GraalOnline

Not only can you play at least some of it for free, unless they've changed it, you can also create your own worlds, called Player Worlds, and have people play in them.

Kind of like having RPG Maker Online.

Favorite films of '08

Wow, I feel woefully inadequate when it comes to movies watched. Let's see, order of enjoyment in 2008:

1. The Dark Knight
2. Quantum of Solace
3. Cloverfield

Oh wait, that's it. I didn't go to the movies much last year. >_>

Whats your theme song?
