Most can't. But does it make sense to have RMN generate revenue so you could?
So, I've been pondering this for a while, and here's a question I would like an answer to: at the current ad revenue per page hit, etc., just how much would the activity here need to increase before the website becomes revenue-positive?
I don't know those numbers. I haven't been involved in the operation of this place for years.

Yeah, I know. Hoped it would get the others' attention, though, but I guess the status is too old. Though, I think I might as well ask you a historical question: during the time you were running the place, when was it closest to profitability?

We All Fall Down

Also I talked to a miner and it gave me a game over. XD

Well, I've beaten it yesterday (review in progress) and didn't get that. Weird.

Melody's Escape

So, as its name implies, this is a platformer rhythm game that apparently works on pretty much any track you load into it. It came out of Early Access roughly a year ago. Here are a few examples of what it can do:

This last one shows the process in more detail:

So, first, I obviously think this looks quite awesome. Second, this gave me an idea: what if we could try loading the RMN game music into it and upload the resulting runs on YouTube as an unconventional way of drawing attention to our resident musical talent?

EDIT: Apparently, it can do Auto-Play as well. It would probably be no fun to make or watch, though...unless it's RTP/Resource, where going through every track you've heard dozens of times before would likely get grating soon.

Crystal of Destiny Review

author=drassray
Great review! While I don't disagree with the points you've made about the game\story itself, I do have to point out that these are pre-rendered 3D graphics. Meaning.... they are simply parallax (2D) images. So, until someone actually gets real 3D objects actively rendering in MV, there is still no proper 3D available in RPG Maker MV. The monsters on map are also 2D sprites. I did state some of this on my OP. It's nice to think that the game was a bit of an optical illusion for you though.

Hm, I guess my thought process was "if MV managed to conquer one boundary by being portable to mobile, then true 3D can't be that farfetched for it (especially since GameMaker could it (or at least Doom-style first-person 2D) since forever)". Oh well, it still looked nice enough!

And I am a little afraid that the name itself, Crystal of Destiny, might well be the first thing that needs to be changed if you are going as far with it as to change the whole engine. Especially the "destiny" part: I think it's not far-fetched at all to say we live at a time when a lot of people want nothing more then to rebel against their supposed destinies!

Oh man. It sounds like I uploaded the exhibit build. The autoreset was put in there so we didn't have to manually restart the game every time someone finished playing. I'll have to re-build the game once I find the old project file!

So, how is it going?

From Beta to Final Demo

Good to know! I was wondering if I should get around to updating my review for beta, but I guess waiting for the final demo would be fine now.

And I'm pretty sure Lysander is friends with WIP. So he most likely got permission for that too. Respect game creators yo :D
OK, I obviously knew that The Frozen World is Lysander's (that's why I mentioned it there in the first place, along with The Blue Contestant, which is also his), but I didn't know that part. Not sure if The Red Contestant's developer, Umbaglo, got permission from Lysander, but given that it was uploaded on the website before any of actual Lysander's games, then....maybe? Either way, it doesn't really matter now, as it's been dormant for nearly five years.
I don't think there is really any need for a fight or drama here. BUT! I did get permission from Lys to work on TFWi. Was a pretty fun project and I learned a lot; one of the biggest things I was proud of was the on-map battles and motion-sick inducing camera.

Umbaglo got permission, I'm sure. And I'm sure of that because one time (A DECADE AGO HOLY SHIT) we were actually all hanging out at Lys's place. We even did our own OneHour compo; I took screenshots of TFWi's menus and plopped them into an RM2k3 game as a sort of Port-of-a-port-of-a-port. And it didn't work right and the game ended up just being stuck, so the PLAYER ended up being one of the stuck NPCs in the game world. That was not what I intended, but turned out way better that way, haha.

Anyway, this game looks very awesome.

Wow, that's a really cool bit of history here, WIP, thanks for sharing! And yes, this game is pretty awesome-looking.

What are your opinions on the recent Pewdiepie Contryversy?

Sorry to say, but your new god emperor (or as we like to call him: El Presidente) might be onto something when he talks about "fake news".

Eh? This entire post was a little confusing, but I find the bolded part especially strange.

just to chime in, because this bothers me too, actually his request was this:
"Death to all Jews, Subscribe to Keemstar."

I think that's the funniest part, really. It's like a famed Russian proverb "Do not dig a pit for someone else, or you might fall into it yourself." (you probably have its direct equivalents, too.) He wanted it to reflect on this Keemstar badly, but because no-one in the outside world gives a fuck about Keemstar, they totally ignored that part, and just targeted him instead. It might've actually been less pathetic if he just stuck with the first part of the message for "the joke" like how everyone pretended he did anyway. Of course, it's not as pathetic as Neo-Nazi websites renaming themselves into his #1 fansites (which just shows how irrelevant actual Nazism is, thankfully) but it's close.

I wonder what that Keemstar's reaction to this was, actually. Never watched one of his videos (and honestly, I just tend to assume nowadays all YT channels with a million+ subscribers are lowest common denominator rubbish) and all I know is that some English-speaking Russian YouTuber has a huge grudge on him. Still, that must have been really funny for him, especially if he did get a bunch of subscribers out of this.

Even if you don't like Pewdiepie it doesn't change the fact that it's hilarious the people who wrote about him being a Nazi hero are making Nazi jokes themselves in a much more offensive way. That's why I had to chime in :P

Well, one might want to be careful with that line of argument. I'm reminded of Breitbart going through Hamilton actor's Twitter back when that whole altercation with your Vice President happened. Stuff like this is why I don't have Twitter (I suppose I'll have to get it if I'll go commercial someday, but not until then) and generally careful about what I post. I suppose something can still be found on me with supercomputers, but that would be the same for everyone else.
