I have procured this vaguely intriguing graph
The second spike on GW is from Barkley.
Unfortunately our games are not up to par. Games are what drive gaming communities. Need more games. You will see the increase when you make more good games. The village well is running dry. Please help nurture it. Please make good games. >:(
Now let's compare graphs with good games. Please tell me how this would look.

Action Game Maker trial released!
The menu tab is pretty cool, I have a feeling I'll be messing with that one a lot. Also the Canvas and Link tabs are awesome, especially the speed editing with the layers. That is going to be really really useful.
I'm still disappointed with the Material section, since it doesn't have as much as I thought it would. =|

where craze eats pancakes
;D
It is the initiative my friends, that is what counts. You know just like RPGs, where you can get the initiative? Sometimes it doesn't matter if you have a Broad Sword or a Wooden Stick to initiate the enemy with. It also doesn't matter what accessories you have on, because you will have the upper hand over anyone when you have the initiative. ;)
Make sure your Charm stat is at a reasonable amount, though. Equipping yourself properly when walking into the wilderness is a must as well.

- A cool project by a very well-known game maker that is being revived which I am not supposed to tell anyone about. :-X
If that is what you're talking about. I think it is.
That Neo game got deleted. Hard drive crashed, it's gone. sorry, take it off the list.
To contribute, I am looking forward to Ara Fell, Balmung, and Phantom Legacy.

Does Anyone Not Finish Games They Purchase?
Action Game Maker trial released!
I have no idea what I'm doing, either. It seems like the information they've given about the program is basically it.
I really don't know what I'm doing though, and I'm really not sure what to think of this. The 3 plugins are essentially the same, but different options appear depending on which one you select. It looks like the program gives you 3 different themes that you're allowed to edit into your own game. Unfortunately, you can't go out of the boundary the program gives you. You are basically stuck with an interface and the numbers and dials the program gives to you. You can't add your own twist to things as far as I can tell.
It functions just like any other Enterbrain product, but the RPG functions are replaced with action ones, and things are just rearranged this time around. The interface is a huge plus with this one. You can literally see everything before you apply or test things. Everything happens on one window, so there isn't anything popping up blocking your view of other things like RM does.

author=Ciel link=topic=3225.msg63797#msg63797 date=1235711474My friend, might I suggest you check out the new installment of Star Ocean? Featuring hi-res loli?
The only game I bought and never finished was Star Ocean 3 as it is unbelievably terrible.
I'm waiting for The Last Remnant to come to PC (since that's what it's made for, don't lie people). Square-Enix succumbed to Steam, so I will be buying it there whenever it comes out.
And I almost never pick a game back up once I've played it, finished or not. It has happened several times, even if the game is good. I got to the end of FFXII and never finished it because other games caught my interest.
Bad points of one big 'inside' map for towns
It doesn't matter in a case like this one, do whatever you want.
I will say that having a larger map and placing every house or room in it has some benefits. It's mostly good for dungeon design or just good organization in general. A good example would be if you had tons of events with code related to specific gameplay functions. It's much easier to make one or two large maps in a dungeon and placing your smaller areas inside of it. This way you won't have to go through the tedious copy and paste (and sometimes edit) job for every map in your game.

Project DOAD
I don't think it was right to walk into the topic and say one line about the game and walk out, either. Clearly there was a lot of work put into this game. The same thing could be applied to almost any style of game (2D, RTP, rips, etc), but yes this has a very different style that most probably aren't used to and playing a game just for gameplay isn't what most players do. The game looks DIFFERENT than most of the other games here, which is a plus for me even if it's not my style. It's much better than seeing the same old graphics being used over and over again.
Okay sorry for continuing this, I would suggest making another topic to discuss these things. I do think the dialogue needs some improvement, that has never been your strong point, Skie. The character design also seems to be very one sided. There aren't any unique characters, and most look the same or have the same personality as another character. I don't mind the actual story itself, since it's really kind of like Mario where it's really just needed to get from point A to point B. And yes, the interface could have used a little bit of adjusting. The game is certainly very light hearted, which your games have always been if I remember correctly. It's a style that is surprisingly rare in the RM community.
Is Remi the last boss? I still can't win.
Also I just realized that I'm the only one other than Anaryu who has played the game and given thoughts on it. =|
