Why your name?
My "actual" username (Ocean's Dream) is a combination username, but to start with I was making games like Island Sky back then (2005 or so) and was very into making tropical inspired games.
I had initially thought to use Shinryu or Ragnarok for my username (big FF fan of course) but I didn't. My 2 projects back then just after Island Sky was Ocean's Rhapsody and Island Dreams. Both are cancelled due to HD dying but the idea stuck around for Island Dreams and became Adalyn instead.
So I just combined the 2 project names and that was my username. tada. I sometimes shorten it to Ocean like I did here but really it's Ocean's Dream. I like it and from all my beach/water inspired stuff I think it fits me well.
That is the story. I can't change my username back to Oceans Dream so it's just Ocean here, everyone shortens it to that anyway so

So, I tried the game (only an hour or so, for now) and it's awesome!
Did you make the chipset graphics? Are they modified rips? And the enemies? Did you compose the music? I'm just curious :p
The overall look and feel of the game is great! Really well accomplished.
Am I not supposed to use the "row" command? 'Cause the characters get in the tree like ornamental part of the screen when I use it.
Chipset graphics are a mix of rips, modified rips and custom. I worked on most of the pieces and added a lot but there are still things that were from FF1 or so, so I can't really take credit for all of it. It was intended to be just NES rips until I figured I'd just remake it with my style.
Music is mostly composed by me, I got some songs from Kaede and some from Dajhail but the majority of it is mine.
The enemy concepts are 99% from TFT (some contributed from kaworu and nessiah), but the sprites are all custom mine.

What are you thinking about? (game development edition)
You can pretty much double scale everything except autotiles for going from RM2k3 to RMVX. autotiles are going to be more restrictive than the Rm2k3 versions. You can look up how the RMVX autotiles work to have an idea on how to arrange it.

I just recently decided to test a solo game version and see if I can beat the game with only 1 character. It was possible, and at times not as hard as I thought. Some battles that ordinarily don't give you a problem with 4 characters can be quite a challenge with just one though!
