Those look great, especially the pirate and the big shielded guy. Forgive me for not knowing their names.
Gameplay Dialogue
I know that Tales of Vesperia has a conversation during the start of almost every boss fight, usually continuing on from the pre-battle dialogue. I thought that was a nice touch. It's a shame that you don't see people doing more of this kind of thing, and I honestly can't even think of one example of a game on here that includes it. Even more so, I can't think of any game that has shopping dialogue.
You've gotten it into my head now, so I may try to do something with it. It's a little more difficult to pull off well without voice acting, though.

The Screenshot Topic Returns

I've been playing around with getting a decent water reflection on the go in 2k3. I think I've gotten it pretty well done. All I need to do now is add all the miscellaneous trinkets to this tile set and it should be finished up.
Cancelled Projects - Graphics Repository
This is weird. They should probably be here, unless I cleared them out of my locker or something. I guess you can delete this? I don't much feel like compiling all that crap again.
Adventure in Violet
Unfortunately a lot of the problems that you've been having with the engine are hard to alleviate. It's not really an open engine as such, it's more of a straight drag and drop with no in depth editing, unless you want to get into coding custom enemies and shit- but at that point you could probably just go full board and make your own damn game.
I'm probably not going to mess around with Knytt Stories for a little. The way it is now, with the changes I want to put into Adventure in Aquamarine, it'll take a while to fix everything up. I'm not really up to that at the moment so I'm gonna leave it.
I think I'm probably going to try my hand at another RPG, see how that goes. Me and my partner are planning to make a fair number of platformers so we'll get a lot pf practice with it, but the small number of RPGs we want to do need to be really top notch, so I feel like I need to have a little practice with that.

Adventure in Violet
Hey, thanks for posting the video. It helps to see someone actually play the game and know how long they spent doing each part, and how much difficulty they had with the areas and all that.
I guess I kind of knew while making it that the trap laden area wasn't balanced well, and the position of the spikes made no sense, because even I had trouble playing it. I think I just decided that in the interest of actually getting something done I'd just leave it as is, and worry about making better challenge in whatever I decided to do next. Not really the best option I suppose.
Thanks for all the support you've been giving me. It's really helpful.

Yeah, everything I used for AiV is just pack in stuff. There's a ton of it so it felt like the right decision. It'd be easy to branch out and do custom things however.
I'm thinking about toying around with SMBX as well, actually. Not until I finish my current workload though.

Adventure in Violet
Yeah, I'm terribly sorry about that. It's hard to figure out what people would be expecting of course because Knytt Stories isn't very widely used. That and this is my first attempt at developing a platformer. I guess it also didn't help that I wasn't able to get any testing done outside of myself (I would have asked here, but I figured that since people weren't aware of the engine it wouldn't be that easy to source testers).
I'll definitely keep all these things in mind when I make the next one. I only just realized that I was developing this for those who knew about what was contained in Knytt Stories, and releasing it on a community that's never hosted a level before, which is ridiculous.
Thanks for playing it though. Sorry you weren't able to finish, you were only a couple screens away from the end, but I doubt the rest of it would be any easier on you.
