Lightning bolt! Lightning bolt! Lightning bolt!

I love the momentum that this project has been going at and it's exciting to think that it could be done in the not-too-distant future. Everything feels more and more cohesive with each new update.

2024 could be the year!

DEEP 8 now "free to play"

I'm also in the "made my commercial game free" camp. Remember that there's no shame in doing so and it's not an indication of defeat. Once I did it, I got many more downloads and reviews than I had when it was just sitting around collecting dust.

I hope it goes well! It can really help give your game a new lease on life.

Progress and More Sprites Galore!

Doing the hybrid approach seems like a good call, considering how detailed the look you're going for is. Caz's graphics also fit seamlessly with your tiles! I wouldn't even have been able to tell that they were mixed assets.

My wife said I can't buy FFVI Remaster until I finish Hero's Realm

Man, you're doing better pixel art in 3 weeks than I've done in 10 years. I absolutely think you should go somewhere with this!

Luxaren Allure is Now on Steam!!!

It's a national holiday!

On this day in 2009...

does anyone believe that I would feel guilty asking for help like this, like I am taking unfair advantage? because that's how I feel. Plus, there is the knowledge that I'm taking forever on this and that it is doubly-unfair that any help someone offers won't see the light of day for a long long time

There's a difference between "Dev who has never touched a game engine before and asking for five figures on kickstarter" asking for help, and "Dev who has completed multiple games and has 60%+ of this one done" asking for help. Part of the reason people want to help is because your project -does- have a chance of seeing the light of day.

You've proven that you can manage a project. That's a skill that many devs sorely lack.

STEAM RELEASE INCOMING!!! Feb 6th!!!

Wahooooo! I'm ready to get Weird and Unfortunate all over again!

Posting from a Tim Hortons

I'm excited to see that a lot of big things are put in place that will let you hit the ground running with the rest of it. It certainly looks like a lot of the big stuff is done and out of the way. Hoping the rest goes well!

Steam is a lot easier to get onto and set up now than it was when I did it six years ago, so I don't imagine you'll run into too many issues. They also have a ton of documentation to help you get everything set up, so there should be plenty of resources to answer many of your questions.

Also making an account on itchio is much easier; it isn't much different than setting up a tumblr page. You can probably do that in a matter of an afternoon or two.

Steam doesn't let you get achievements until you hit a certain sales bracket now (same with trading cards) but when you do get it it's going to incentivize the completionism brain people to pick it up.
Not to stray off topic too much, but I was curious about this. The game I'm putting on is free, and they let me set up achievements, and I've seen other free RPG Maker games with achievements (Tho my game's not finished going thru the approval process, so I suppose they could reject the achievements?).

I wonder if it's different for free games, or if there's something I'm missing.

There is a sort of confidence metric they put in place a few years back that your game has to hit before you're allowed to have trading cards and related items. Unless your game is free; then they won't be available at all.

You can still have achievements; they just won't count towards someone's overall achievement count.

URGENT HALP PLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;____; [RGSS3]

Consider me bamboozled.

Luna Engine should include a script called "YEA Compatible" which specifically makes it work better with the Yanfly scripts.

It may or may not work though, and some Yanfly scripts don't play well with Luna Engine at all. Shop Menu and Battle Victory wouldn't cooperate with me even with the compatibility script.

Still, give it a try if you haven't already!
