I am into just about every genre of game really. My brother and I grew up dabbling in RM2k3 on occasion to the point where hearing the RTP soundtrack brings a wave of nostalgia, so I'm most familiar with that engine as far as RPGMaker goes.

can we make pictures based on ripped graphics of RTP, for example a picture of a sprite or monster or engine's font to make a custom menu, credits, huds, etc?


You could probably show a monster sprite as a picture, but if you actually start combining multiple sprites together then I'd think not.

Weird!

I'm on Win7 x64 Home Premium, 4 core i5 2500k. 16gb RAM, Radeon HD 7870 and more hard drives than any reasonable person needs. Language for non-unicode programs is English (United States). v1.10a.

I opened ye olde RT2k3 (1.04 translated by RPGAdvocate, has resource hacks that I did) and it works fine in there too.

I'm not sure what would be causing it if it's fine on your end. It's also the only place it happens in too. e: of what I've used


I've gotten that UI bug before (in RPGMaker2k3 v1.08) but not sure what caused it.

Are we allowed to edit the tilesets to basically overlay onto other sprites in the sprite sheet? For example, to mix upper layer tiles with lower layer tiles without creating a transparent background? If no, that's cool, I still have another idea in mind for what I want ;)


I'm gonna rule out overlapping sprites as that's getting into "well I'll just overlap Alex's head over Zack's" territory.

@GreatRedSpirit/Lazymoth: I still don't understand, I think. For me, the default database already has scrollbars in all those fields, and nothing is broken there. Could you show me a screenshot please?

@Mason_Wheeler: Maybe you don't have the latest version of the RTP. It was updated some days ago because accidentally there was the 2k ship tileset and the 2k title screens in there.


Which one is the 2k3 ship tileset? I just downloaded the RTP off RPGMaker Web and I think theirs still has just the 2k ship.

Can we use the 1.2 version of Tsukuru 2003 RTP?
Umm...well, the rules say that RPG Tsukuru 2003 is permitted. What do you mean by 1.2 version of RTP? The RTP that comes with Tsukuru is the same thing as the English version. That's all the rules say you can use. Alterations, rips and original art is a no-no.
1.2 sounds like it could be some unoffical one like the 1.32 RTP don miguel made back in the day which is filled with rips.

But actually, I might make something for this, but it will probably be pretty minimalist and have next to no combat elements.

[RM2K3] Any 2k3 Battle Tips or Pointers?

bugmenot made a thing (for v1.08) that makes some of your skills affected by accuracy, so Blind would still work, but then there are a few other standard conditions that you might have to look out for:

Silence- "regular attack" skill could become disabled
Confusion/anything else that has the enemy being forced to attack- they will use the "regular attack" command instead of your special regular attack skill

In DynRPG.ini, under QuickPatches, try:

for skills with ID 1-100,
;allow evasion if the Skill_ID is below a certain number

;other skills go by skill success rate only
SkillAccuracyFix=49C69A,04000F83,49C69B,%101


The number after % can be changed but I am not sure if there was a limit on that value (probably was though).
