Kind of simple title screen request...

Yep, I'm using 2k3.

author=pyrodoom
I'm doing it. But...since I usually do strange looking ones, may I, add a few strange effects to it, say...like copy it, invert the color, than paste it on there so the normal ground is over a black sky or something like that? I may not be making sense...but to me, that would look more interesting than just the white sky, have a black sky with shiny clouds and grass.

That sounds cool to me. :) I really appreciate both of you guys giving it a shot!

Kind of simple title screen request...

I'm in dire need of a title screen/logo. I'm awful at making them and I don't have photoshop or anything to make anything really good looking (I know some people are talented enough they can whip something out in MSpaint and make it look crazy, but I'm not such a talented person. >_>)

Just a nature backdrop, like a plain/field, grass (and flowers, etc.) kind of blowing in the wind, with a very cloudy sky. With the title "Remnants of Fate" on top, and with..for lack of a better term, blue'ish pyreflies (looking sort of like how it does in Final Fantasy X) coming up from the field and then wrapping around the title/logo, and then a blue colored, slightly decrepit hourglass by the front of the name (or kind of behind it/beside it, final fantasy or legend of zelda style.)
Anything else you want to add that fits in there is cool, if you can/want to make it look like everything has been painted, or drawn, that would be really cool.

Or even, something sort of like in the style of this:

Credit of course will be given.
Sorry if its a bit of a crazy request and if no one has time or something thats completely understandable, just figured its worth a shot. I'm trying to gear it up for a game profile next week if possible, so thats what I was on the hunt for the title screen now. Anyways, thanks to anyone who took the time to read this, and thanks in advance if anyone attempts it!

Final Fantasy Essence

Do I need XP to play this? Or is it standalone? This looks awesome, definitely can't wait to try it. This weekend would be great, cause I'll actually have some free time this weekend.

What RMN game are you playing now?

I'm just playing through Alter A.I.L.A Genesis and Hero's Realm right now.

The Screenshot Topic Returns

Is that town for a specific game UPRC? Or just demonstrating some mapping skills? Just wondered, I saw the other town vid you made a few pages back so I was intrigued to see if it was for an upcoming game. Either way, excellent mapping skills. Consider me a fan. :)

The Screenshot Topic Returns

Thanks for all the feedback and advice, it helped out a lot. :)
I spent some time on it today, mainly just editting the graphics. I changed the font, I liked the other one but I definitely see how it wasn't as user-friendly as a sleeker or more basic pixel font. Changing the font took quite awhile though cause all the battle menus are picture based. I took a screenshot during the same type of battle to show the difference/comparison.

Does the new look better than the old? :/

Ashriot- Thanks for the reply and advice on the font. :) The Ap and Sp are pretty much like two sources of MP, except each is used for a different set of abilty type. Both are gained per turn (or with certain abilities/items), similar to games like Skies of Arcadia. I'm a big fan of that type of system. ^_^
I'm glad you enjoy the CTB turn system as well. :D

Demicrusaius-Thanks for your advice also. :) I made the menu colors a little darker, is it easier on the eyes?
Its been kinda a secret I 'spose, though I plan on having a game page soon, hopefully within the next couple of weeks. I've been mainly focusing on the CBS, but now I just need to start working on more chipsets (adding more variety and things to the base of each chip I have) and finish spritework.

Quick note: The cursor arrows beside the icons in lower left corner have already been brightened up/fixed, but I took this screen earlier and I'm not on the computer with the game on it so I can't post that updated screen yet. But yeah..

The BG is a work in progress, I'm just mainly focusing on the actual CBS right now, and I've been working/editting that chipset, so I still need to add more variety to it.

I'm also editting the sprites to give them more of a battle pose, I have just been using them as is for now.

Credit for the awesome charsets that I editted (some slightly, and others not so slightly) from Antifarea's open source sprites. You can check those out in the creative corner. (A more proper credit will be listed in the game itself, but I wanted to give a mention here, too.)

Strategy RPG Game Idea

Well personally I think it all depends on the type of game you want it to be so to speak. As you said, you are not shooting for an RTS so I think its entirely possible to make a strategy type game in RPGmaker. Anyway, what kind of combat (if any) are you considering? and are you thinking a game where you are controlling the actions of units (pretty much like an RTS) or where you are just simming who does what, more like harvest moon or something?

Like lets say, you want to tell certain NPC's to go do something and have them appear to do the command you gave them, there are a few ways around this, easy. Or are you talking RTS style like Age of empires or Starcraft, where multiple units are acting on their own after being given a command?

Working in teams: Yay or nay?

slashphoenix brought up a lot of good points. Although I do like making games solo, I think working on a project on a team would be interesting. For me personally, I enjoy making custom systems or writing the story, like the best part to me is making the battle system, menu and level up systems..but either due to time constraints or overwhelming work turning into loss of interest, I end up putting the project on hiatus. Mapping and drawing/doing graphics are the slow-down point, and making INTROS, ugh..thats like writers block guaranteed every time. :/

I think working in a 2-person or 3-person team could possibly work.. Possibly even better than in a solo project, because you have 2-3 people taking care of different areas that they enjoy more, and you have that constant feedback or input from your team that might help you keep going further with the project.

Musician Available for Work

I'm still really interested, I have just been swamped with school and work lately and inbetween working on the game itself, I have not had a whole lot of time. I plan on sending you an email for sure sometime this weekend about the game and hopefully have a game page sometime shortly after that.
