author=Zadok83author=SphereSorry to say I broke your game again;author=Zadok83LOL it's okay, that's actually both an error and a purposeful one, because that passability being the way it is allows for folks to exit Baron Castle as you've seen. If I were to x out the passability, the transfer eventing out of the castle wouldn't work, as you wouldn't be able to step there. I did try the "through" technique, and while it does work, it also screws up later eventing. So yeah, it is an error, but a necessary one.

Back at it again and I've found another bug;
After returning to Baron Castle using the Ancient Waterway, there is a major passability error around the entire castle. I can walk on the edge of the screen all the way around until you get to the original entrance, which takes you out of the castle. That means you'd have to go all the way back through the Ancient Waterway to continue on.
Maybe I shouldn't do so many things outside of the natural flow of the game, lol.
I defeated the Dark Elf in the "unwinnable" first battle (BTW I've been playing on Ultra difficulty the entire time) and the whole Rydia scene played through as though I'd lost the battle. Upon entering the 2nd battle with him, everyone but Cecil was paralyzed (even though the magnetic field had been lifted). Of course I used Remedys to get everyone in fighting shape and defeated the Dark Elf for the 2nd time.
After the event and grabbing the Earth Crystal, I left the room. I opened the menu and everyone (including Cecil this time) was still paralyzed. I tried leaving the cave on foot, but unfortunately got pulled into battle, which led to me watching as the enemies wailed on me until everybody was dead.
Another thing too;
I noticed that the Dark Elf in the first battle has 2 battle patterns. Pattern #1 has him use Tornado a couple of times. Then he gets serious and starts spamming Fira, Blizzara, and Thundara until you die.
Pattern #2 has him stuck in a loop of using Tornado repeatedly, which cannot kill you. Of course I took advantage of the opportunity and destroyed him.
My question is, how do I trigger Pattern #1? I have a feeling that if I do, I can continue the game as normal.
Edit: I was able to trigger Pattern #1, so all the following events took place as they should have. I'll just have to be careful not to win anymore "unwinnable" battles, lol.
Remind me to watch you play Dark Souls sometime. ^.^ The reason for the first instance occurring was that a switch didn't go on that's supposed to when you lose the battle. That's why those weird paralyzing glitches occurred.
And yeah, try to take it easy on the unwinninable battles there. LOL =)

Alas, another gamebreaking bug;
Outside of Baron, there is a Chocobo Forest. I gave the Fat Chocobo some Gysahl Greens and started a Chocobo Race, in which I lost because time ran out. However, the race music never stopped and the screen went black. The caption "Chocobo Forest" popped up, but the screen stayed black. I had full access to my menu, but was unable to do anything upon exiting it, due to the black screen.
I guess I'll call it a night and patiently wait for the next patch.
I thought I got rid of all the chocobo races and the Fat Chocobos in all the forests. Apparently not. Good catch. This has been fixed and its in the latest patch now live.

I was going to wait till I finished the game to do a write up and give my opinions, but I found a bug that you might want to fix. If you go to Mount Ordeals before going to Mysidia, there seems to be no check as to if Palom and Porom are in your party, and events proceed as if they are. Just thought I'd let you know!
Thanks for catching that! I just fixed it and it's in the latest patch. I honestly never thought to check that someone would go to Ordeals before they got Porom and Palom. Goes to show that I'm still learning I suppose. =)

author=Krazaelauthor=Sphereit worked, thx.
Sounds like you don't have the latest Data patch installed. Go to the Downloads section and you'll see the Data patch and what it fixes (there's a list of fixes once you click on it).
Holy should do damage, so it's probably something going on that was fixed via the Data patch. Once you've got the latest Data patch, let me know if everything is fixed.
i found that sea monster Leviathan i guess, is it possible to interact with it? another secret maybe?
That's something I was considering to use as a secret, but I've ultimately decided against. You'll want to re-download the latest patch to get rid of it.

I really am enjoying the game and I've now reached the point where there are stark changes from the original taking place...
Mt. Ordeals
Anyway, I've come across a significant bug, though not gamebreaking;
After defeating Rydia 1 on 1 with Palom, I am able to walk around with Cecil. However, if you take 1 step back and 1 step forward, the whole event with the Gilgamesh battle repeats. It starts with Tellah saying "I sense something amiss".
BTW, I'm running the latest version (2.5) so I figure no one else has encountered this particular bug yet?
That's supposed to be an unwinnable battle, it's why no one has run into it yet lol. I don't know how the computer managed to do it, but I've greatly increased that enemy's HP so that that glitch won't occur. You'll want to re-download the latest patch to fix it.

edit: Porom's Holy doesnt do any damage to monsters in the moon, is it a bug or they are just resistant to it?
edit2: omg i thought the Member's Writ was 500k thats why it took me so long to get it LOL

Well, I don't have the luxury at the moment to buy anything. I can work on RM2k3's fanslation if anything.
You know I always admire folks who can do great things with RM2k3. I tried working with it and it told me it hated me, so I don't work with it lawl. That sounds good to me!

You know... FFIVAD kinda resparked? Strengthened? I don't know. But for quite a bit time I considered remaking the original Final Fantasy with an altered story, something similar to yours (even though I haven't completed the game myself OTL I will need to do that if I want to do that thing). Well, it wouldn't be made in any of those new RPG Makers since I really don't have budget to buy any of that.
I know that VX Ace is only $10 on sale on Steam if you don't have that maker, MV is also on sale but it's still over $40 so yeah it's kinda expensive. I'd love to see an altered story of the original FF! I think that'd be really cool.

author=Krazaelauthor=Sphereno i havent, i was thinking if it was rly worth it lol guess i have to go grind some gold then
You're about three dungeons away from the final dungeon, so you're definitely getting towards the end. =) As for secrets, have you bought a Member's Writ yet in Troia? *hint hint* There are other secrets too, but I'll let you figure them out.
i also found some maps that i cant interact yet and i wonder what kind of gear ill get from that blacksmith :P
edit: btw will i be able to travel between the two worlds anytime i want? or if i miss something its gone forever?
You'll be able to travel between both worlds anytime you want after a certain point in the story. =) And as for the blacksmith... well that's one of the secrets. XD
Launch Update 2: Launchier

Oh, I use Slow but bosses pack quite a punch I need to maintain HP and with only four combat characters that's realy hard. Maybe that's the problem: FFIV had a five-member battle party and AD is a four-member battle party, hence battles seem difficult.
Also, Cura (Porom's version at least, although I think Cecil's Cura is the same so the same problem applies) still doesn't ignore rows. Curaga heals around the same value of HP regardless of rows.
I did try having magic ignore rows in the script, but it caused Tellah's magic and a few others to have this weird glitch that their spells do no damage, so I had to revert it back. I did look into this, and actually it's more of an engine issue combined with the script than anything else.
From what I understand, it's not that rows make a difference in healing (because they're not magic attacks), it's that the caster will usually heal for less on themselves when they heal the party for some odd reason. I've noticed this even when Porom is in the front row, she'll have a hundred or two hundred less HP per healing on herself than the rest of the party when using Curaja or Curaga. I'm still looking into it, but I'm no master scripter so this may be something beyond me.
Also yeah, that's probably why battles seem difficult is the whole 4 member party thing, so the balancing is going to be different than the original game. It's not really more difficult than the original game (it's actually a bit easier), but it may seem that way to the more casual gamer. Let me know as you progress how it goes. =)
