Turns out the program I was using to extract was faulty. A quick extraction using 7-zip solved the problem.

However upon download and extracting the file, for some reason all it contains is the System folder and a dll, which I know can't be right. Any idea what could be happening?

how advanced are you now?
Do you mean how far along am I? Just doing the end boss, credits, bonus areas, and rebalancing some of the enemies. Shouldn't be longer than a month, maybe a month and a half max and the game will be complete. =)

I think the war machine does belong actually. Reminds me of FF VI to some degrees where you'd have your simple towns, and then you'd have places like Figaro Castle and Vector, which are completely different in terms of tone and technology. Or take FF IV, where you've got the medieval towns and then the advanced technology of Tower of Zot or Babil.
I think a death machine like that should stand out, and if it's got a different art style so be it, the machine itself looks great, and I'd rather not have to wait years for this game to get done with all the art done by a single person. =)

i am finding Royal Air Force to be strange for wording in this old game. maybe change the text to Royal Baron Fleet instead? i know you want to use something instead of Red Wings so it's not overused, i just thought it could be improved a little :)
Actually that bit of dialogue came directly from the GBA translation, interestingly enough. I suppose I could change it to Royal Baron Fleet,or some similar connotation thereof. Thanks for the suggestion! =)

I see what you're going for there with the towers and all. You're wanting that sense of depth which is why you've got the same floor tiles there, but like the others said, different floor tiles for the towers would make it look much better and you can still maintain the depth of perception you're looking for. It looks great! I'm seriously looking forward to this game!
