You see not a bird but an American lady who likes other ladies. Oscillates between shy as a mouse and babbling violently, seemingly at random.
I like badasses. I like babes. I like badass babes the best. Okay...actually I like doggoes the very best, but I aspire to make games about badass babes is my point.
I use music from bands and artists in the free games I make: the frustrated filmmaker in me is very enamored of scoring scenes with rock'n'roll soundtracks Scorcese or Tarantino style. In addition to being a time honored tradition in cinema, this has a history in AAA videoogames as well (for a really great use of it, see Bioshock: Infinite). If I was a millionaire, I'd totally license these songs so I could actually use them legally.

What are you thinking about right now?
The story revolves around a mysterious grey fog that lingers into different areas in the world. When the fog reaches into an area, the area is considered "The Grey Area",(emphasis mine)

oh dude...I'm sorry...but I think this just might be cheesiest thing i have ever fucking seen

Help me design a rappelling minigame!
So, I want the PCs to start the second episode rappelling quickly down through this crumbling semi-ruined tower dragon wizard's castle (man-made, in good repair). And for some reason the fact that it's not and CANNOT be 3D is really making me draw a blank. Now I know that tons of great 2D videogames, a lot of them sidescrollrs and platformers, have made great use of vertical space. But I'm having no specific example comes to mind on how one might be made in RPG Maker VX Ace and I'm pretty sure that technically between eventing scripts and plugins pretty much all the capabilities to do this are built into pretty much every RPG Maker hence the lack of a tag.

[Concept Artist/Illustrator] Available for Project
Gorgeous landscapes and vehicle designs! I'm guessing from the samples you've chosen to show you're not as keen on drawing figures?
(Concept art per se is a thing few (maybe virtually none) of us can afford, but promotional art is always awesome to have.)

wait holy shit is Vincent Valentine the Master Chief?
author=Marrendauthor=kentonaI think you're talking about a...
I thought it was Gordon Ramsay

...Master Chef.
*leaves*
Whenever we would play Halo couch co-op back when I young I always thought of the inexplicable clone of Master Chief that appears and disappears as the co-op gameplay demands as being named Master Chef. (Possibly before that was a show.)
Incidentally, original post explained: I watched Advent Children the other night and the guy who voices Vincent Valentine sounds a LOT like the voice of Master Chief. I still haven't looked it up.
What Videogames Are You Playing Right Now?
author=Yellow Magicauthor=StormCrowOh snap that's a good point. I'm on Disc 2 and no sign of chocobos yet..
Edit: On my first play through of FF8 I completely missed that there were Chocobos in the game AT ALL. On this second playthrough like 16 years later or whatever, I was aware of Chocobos since I hit the 3rd disc, but I've chosen to completely ignore them (as I've been completely ignoring Triple Triad).
PS ignoring Triple Triad!! Were you not using Card Mod?
Oh, I used Card Mod alright. I just didn't get the Card command or play triple triad. But when cards came my way, I modded 'em. I modded 'em good. (I lost my Ifrit card to the asshole who owns the tavern in Dollet one of the two times I played Triple Triad, so I couldn't turn it into 3 Elem-Atks, beat him on the next go. I just sold all my cards that weren't OP. That was to get Occult Fan No. 2 when I was trying to "do the Doomtrain questline" like you might do a questline in Skyrim, and before I realized that it was broken forever by the disappearance of the Master Fisherman by Disc 3.)
Embarrassed to say that I lost the Siege on Narshe three consecutive times last night. Considering it's essentially a marathon of ATB battles and I have spent countless hours balancing ATB battles I expect better of myself. I never remember losing it before when I was younger. I think it's because I tried to adopt an offensive strategy this time. I was really amped up on the idea of
But a defensive strategy seems basically required to win that battle (although I'm sure there's youtube videos of much better players than me essentially just clipping up to Kefka and one-hitting him, or whatever else).
Anyone else fine with Gau mimicking the abilities of every other monster but has their suspension of disbelief, even in this over-the-top milieu, shattered by his ability to become just fucking become a mech ("quick Morty, turn into a car!")?
Are hentai games allowed here?
author=Paladox
Thanks Shinan and Marrend for the informative replies.
The other responses, while not intentionally helpful, are good too.
How? Well I can deduce that approximately 60% of the members here do not approve of hentai, and 2/3 of that 60% could be regular viewers of actual porn.

Seriously though:

Do people really enjoy looking at pixelated breasts? I dont get it.
Um, you do know that anime breasts are not any more pixellated than live action breasts, right, and both are only pixelated in the sense that pixels are the basic unit of programmable color on a screen. Like if you're looking at "real" (ok, poor choice of words considering most porn but you know what I mean) boobs that's...also pixels.
Hentai is GENERALLY at least not pixel art, it's hand drawn and/or computer animated.
Unless you're referring to the pixel filter that actually literally pixelates certain parts of the body in hentai put in place by Japanese censors with REALLY weird ideas about what is and is not okay to show (tons of rape? suuuuuuuureeeee. actual penis doing the rapes? MUST CENSOR) but that goes on the hoo-hoo dilly or the cha-cha, the boobs don't get pixel censored so yeah I really don't know what you're talking about visitor.
@OP:
Serious (but unofficial; the mods already gave the official answer) Answer: No, but I think there are plenty of games on the site already that sure WALK THE LINE. Sounds like what you're designing is less "walk the line" and more "is clearly porn" though. I don't disapprove of porn but this is not the place for it. Also and just personally speaking here, I've never really wanted my porn to be in video game form. Like I don't really get that. As a thing.

author=Soozauthor=Sgt MPresumably "all art must only ever be made for art reasons, and not commercial, or else it is tainted forever with cynicism."
I meant this more as a "There is a literal business-related reason for this" kind of thing. I'm not really sure where you're drawing cynicism from.
Well, kinda sort of. A bit more like: "the only reason for this is to make more $$$" is fairly cynical, of them, Sgt M, not of you. I have no problem with art that's aiming to make a profit, as long as there is some degree of artistic integrity or at least the creator is creating something they love, whether or not it's art. If the primary/only concern is making money, then it's not art, it's entertainment, and very likely it's shit, too. As a creator, when other creators are absolutely shameless sellouts and/or whores, it does not endear me to them (I'm looking at you Stephanie Meyer/50 Shades Lady).
@Tonberry
I was mainly just exaggerating for comedic effect a la the Zach Morris is trash videos. Esp. w/ stuff like arguing for sympathy for NORG, etc.
...though I do think Cid Kramer is essentially a coward and fool who abdicated his responsibilities to teenagers at the critical moment he most needed to be leading those teenagers, I don't actually hate the character as a character, just as a person. And I remain baffled that a total softy with no discernible combat skills or experience became the leader of a paramilitary/mercenary outfit regardless of the extenuating circumstances.
Squall I dislike as a character because he just marinates in teenage wangst for most of the game. He's never been able to wrap his mind around the whole "no man is an island" thing which is a very easy concept to grasp. "People need other people to rely on" is not a very profound realization. It's something every sane human being kind of knows by long before they're Squall's age.
On top of it, Squall is a big jerk to almost everyone almost all the time. He thinks he is too cool for school and doesn't once actually get called out for his shit attitude. And the biggest emotional development he shows is...finally not ignoring the beautiful girl who has been (kind of inexplicably) throwing herself at him over and over? But I mean...I can't argue with the point that compared with Seifer (who as annoying as he is and as satisfying it is to kick his ass over and over, ultimately I pity more than anything else, he's a young stupid teenager being manipulated by an extratemporal force of inconceivable age and power, it's really quite unfair) Squall is like a paragon of emotional maturity.
He's not a terrible protagonist. Virtually the entire cast of FFX is worse. But I guess my issue could maybe best be summed up as...he starts the game apparently somewhere on the autistic spectrum or at the very least not neurotypical and his character arc is that he essentially becomes neurotypical and that's really profoundly not how autism or anything else works.
I mean, if I had written the game, Squall and Rinoa would definitely have had the uncomfortable... "so, you banged Seifer last year and I'm essentially getting his sloppy seconds?" talk because that seems like a big deal so yeah I mean. I'm weird. I'll be the first to admit that.
Hey, bulma, I'm very sorry you got warned. Considering that my last five posts have been at least 75% about FF8, I will personally shut up for a while, but I'd kind of prefer we not drop the topic of young protagonists in jRPGs if anyone else has anything to say about it. Like, it reads a little like you're asking for my topic to get locked or buried because you managed to draw a warning in it? If that's not what you meant, then I'm sorry, it's all good.
What age range are the characters in your games?
I have almost never written a character near my own age except by complete accident. When I was younger I wrote older, now that I'm older I write younger. The only exception is when I go back to characters I created when I was younger that are now, coincidentally, my age. (Unsurprisingly, I can write them better than when I was a young'un. Don't know how much of that is relating to 30 somethings and how much of it is just being better at writing now than I was then.)
Right now I'm writing a couple of 200 year old characters and it's quite the challenge, but a fun challenge.
