STORMCROW'S PROFILE

>look StormCrow

You see not a bird but an American lady who likes other ladies. Oscillates between shy as a mouse and babbling violently, seemingly at random.

I like badasses. I like babes. I like badass babes the best. Okay...actually I like doggoes the very best, but I aspire to make games about badass babes is my point.

I use music from bands and artists in the free games I make: the frustrated filmmaker in me is very enamored of scoring scenes with rock'n'roll soundtracks Scorcese or Tarantino style. In addition to being a time honored tradition in cinema, this has a history in AAA videoogames as well (for a really great use of it, see Bioshock: Infinite). If I was a millionaire, I'd totally license these songs so I could actually use them legally.

Databasing (database setup) for a brand new game. Usually my favorite part, but damn I'm rusty.

Other RPG Maker games that inspire you?

Man, this thread is a trip down memory lane. Some of the game's on Blind's list are among the BEST RPG Maker games ever made, which is I know not the topic at hand. I'd like to echo The Way, strongly (I never finished it, but the worldbuilding in the first few episodes alone was incredible, and the dueling system was technically impressive for the time). I feel like iishrenon's Three The Hard Way also deserves at least an honorable mention.

Jesus I am showing my age.

Oh: The Blue Contestant. And on another note, most of Craze's catalogue is very strong.

What are you thinking about? (game development edition)

I need to figure out how to do flat (not percentage based) Damage Over Time in Ace. I'm sure I had a script for that at one point. I probably knew how to script that myself at one point. But certainly not now.

This filter should allow you to see a list of games which are complete and have no review.
I don't know if it's just my browser (it seems to remove all instances of the "&" character), but, copy-pasting that into the URL bar worked better than clicking it.

Semi-related is this filter. Clicking on this link seems to be working as intended. Awkward.

Thank you! I have a feeling there are a ton of games that are completed with no reviews, even more when you add demos. That's why I was kind of looking for personal recommendations.

@Sidewinder: Thanks, it's on the list.

I Would Like To Review Some Games That Haven't Been Reviewed

Pretty much what it says on the tin. If you have (or know of) a game that's not "buzzing" or "new and notable" and has, say, one or less review, that you'd like reviewed, let me know about it here (nothing you know to be a turd, please, reviewing clearly bad games is no fun and makes me feel like a meanie). I absolutely can't promise to be remotely prompt or reliable (life is chaos) but I can try to be thorough and fair!

Thanks!

Update - State Of The Thread 9/7/2018
At present I have less than 72 hours to finish my first half for the 2018 Swap In The Middle With Two event; in the following two weeks I'll have the responsibility of finishing someone else's second half, probably someone far more talented. That means I probably won't be back to actively reviewing things before October (I also have a change of residence precariously scheduled for this period).

I am happy to process review requests in the interrim.

I've updated the list of games I've reviewed.

I used to be a part of this community - hello

hey, I remember you!

I Am An Oldnewb

Hello everyone!

I was around in the olden days but never released much of note. I have forgotten more about gam mak than most people will ever learn. I have been away from the dev scene for a long time, enough to have forgotten everything I learned about making RPGs. So yeah, I am kind of an ancient newblet. I have returned because of a sudden and unexpected influx of free time. I expect to be spamming the Help Me! board with a lot of questions about how to do things that I used to teach other people how to do before the onset of dementia, because I think it's more like "riding a time machine" than riding a bicycle. If I start to annoy you with all the questions, let me know.

Right now I'm just trying to do something really basic with Ace, just to get a handle on how to use the program again.

That is all I can think to say. I know, I know, post lots, right? Well I will try to, but I will try to mak more. Cheers!
