I first got interested in RPG Maker after watching X-Play do a review of RPG Maker for the Play Station. Years later I found RPG Maker VX Ace and decided to buy it. My first RPG Maker game, Dragon Lancer, was approved by Deckiller and became available to download on January 15, 2013.

Game / Engine Count:

RPG Maker VX Ace = 12
Visual Novel Maker = 3
RPG Maker MV = 2
Ren'Py = 2
Pixel Game Maker MV = 1
Solarus = 1
Inform 7 = 1

RPG Maker Music Packs: Worth it or not?

On a side note I noted that RPG Maker 3 was on
the Plastion Network now as a classic. I think they
should have just made a pack like they did with the DS
and give us the tilesets, characters, battlers, etc...
Since owning a console version does nothing for you.

rpgmaker.net needs your help (again)!

You guys make money if you purchase something through
your sight too, right?

But I'm guessing that doesn't count as a donation...

Help me give my game a new title?

"Zombify"

"Necropotence"

"Undying Testament"

"Call to the Grave"

"Underworld Connections"

Build a Snowman

Yeah, I was a little suprised with the difficulty of this
too. I really had to use my brain to figure stuff out.
Haven't seen anything like this on RMN. Doesn't
require any download, just click and play.

Help me give my game a new title?

"Drug Overdose"

"Zombie Distribution"

"Pharmacidal Homicide"

"Half Baked, Half Alive"

"Medicinal Afterlife"

"The Last Virus"

Getting your Game out there - Where to post your game?

For my last game I posted a thread on these websites.
The first one can only be used for vx ace and has similar
entry requirements as rmn. The second one seems to accept anything,
but hardly anyone visits it. (I'm actually the first and only
completed game to be posted on the second forum at the moment.)

Please help me solve a mystery!

Wow, just think with all this time writing essays and
arguing, you could be making a game.

[Poll] Judging whether to download a game? What do you look for?

I sometimes decide based on:

The engine. if I need to download a different RTP then
I'm not inclined to download.

The file size. I don't like downloading games that start going
into the 100's.

Easy to unzip. I hate games that have .rar files. It means I
need to download a trial of something that can unpack it.

Even then I usually only play the game just to see what it
has to offer, which means I usually dedicate a couple hours
to a game, but not finish it. If I spent too much time
playing the games on here I wouldn't have time to make
my own, which takes the majority of my time.

Interacting With Live Damage

If your using rpg maker there are scripts for real time fighting.
If you go to the rpg maker vx ace forum there will be a master
script list, but you never really indicated what engine your
using...

Difficulty: Challenge vs Frustration

Ninja Giadon 2 had problems with difficulty vs. frustration.
Getting killed easily is one thing, but being unable to
prevent it in some cases is downright wrong. The worst example
of this is the guys with the rocket launchers.

On, the otherhand, I found games like Zelda (NES) difficult,
but not frustrating because I knew there was a key to defeating
the game.
