I first got interested in RPG Maker after watching X-Play do a review of RPG Maker for the Play Station. Years later I found RPG Maker VX Ace and decided to buy it. My first RPG Maker game, Dragon Lancer, was approved by Deckiller and became available to download on January 15, 2013.

Game / Engine Count:

RPG Maker VX Ace = 12
Visual Novel Maker = 3
RPG Maker MV = 2
Ren'Py = 2
Pixel Game Maker MV = 1
Solarus = 1
Inform 7 = 1

Build a Snowman

How do you split 2 parts of a snowman into one?
Is that possible?

You are either taking a snowman and splitting him
into two different halves or taking two parts of
the snowman and putting them together.

Better description:

Frosty lost all his body parts, help him find them so
he can bring joy and wonder to all the boys and girls
of the world.

How long does it take for a game to be submitted?

Anywhered from two days to over a week in my experience.
Depends how busy the people are.

I was also wondering, if you were just submitting
pictures for the media portion, would you have
to submit a game, or is there a different method for
submitting this. (Don't really want to submit a game
just to enter pictures into the contest.)

Giadon Saga

I fixed your problem and e-mailed you back.
Hope it works.

Remember for a scetion like this in a game like
this to have more than one save file. I think
Jason even alludes to the fact that you can't
come back.

Giadon Saga

If you can keep her alive the ice arrow is pretty useful,
if you have any technique potions left. Da-Zar's Assault attack
is also hardcore against any enemy. Try to save the Holy attack
for the second final boss, obviously. I think somehwere in the
dungeon there may be a Miracle Potion, which brings back all
KO allies to full HP.

If your going to do the extra optional dungeon after you
beat the game (The one with Jason)
you might want to visit the accessory store
and purchase a set of 3 accessories that raise your
max HP and MP. The last bonus dungeon makes everything
else in the game look like a cakewalk, and this is
coming from the person who likes hard games....
This is also where I have the special looking
battlers, which look pretty cool.

Or there's New Game+, the second playthrough should
be a breeze at level 30+.

Edit: If you overwrote that stay close to the crystals.
Jason's equip doubles gold. You can purchase the new
exclusive potions from the blue crystal and the speacial
potions from the red crystal. (There is no way back from
this dungeon, which is similar to the crypt dungeons
in Dragon Lancer.)

Is it possible for you to send me the save file and for
me to warp you out and send you back the new save file?
You can e-mail me at ktoombs@yahoo.ca with the subject
tag Giadon Saga. I will see what I can do.

Giadon Saga

My next game will definitely have a difficulty selection.
I'm not too sure about Giadon Saga, since its easier to
implement a large script like this into something new,
rather than something with a lot of stuff that may or
may not work with the script.

Here's a picture of the difficulty selection screen
in the new game I'm making, just to prove that I
have learned something from this.

Also if anyone can think of anything else they would like
to see in my next game, let me know. I will try my best to
find a script that can handle that.

Other new features in my new game will include:
Having 5 members in the batlle party
and being able to change members in battle
with reserve party members (That means you will
have a much larger party in this game than my previous
games.)

Phantasy Star V

"Based on the underrated Phantasy Star Series..."

In whos dictionary is Phantasy Star underrated.
This may be one of the most well known Sega Genesis RPGs out there,
besides Grandia (which was lamer in my opinion than PS 4, which
is the only old school one I have played.)

Phantasy Star Online sucks and any version of this game
made after Sega died is lame.

Giadon Saga

There are 30 side quests I believe. 2 side quests require Sontu
to be in your party.... Other quests require you to complete
other quests. One quest requires you to beat the Bad Ass Dungeon,
which is not on the quest board (Talk to Mark on the third floor
of the pub to buy the house to access this dungeon.) The Dark
Caves also is not on the quest board and has an extra section, but
doesn't unlock anything by completing it.

Finding the tile will not unlock any other quests. You will get
to choose one of 4 rewards. Three of the rewards will probably
be pretty useless to you at this point. One reward,
"The Belt of Intimidation," cannot be received any other way
and while equiped reduces random encounters to zero!!!

Finding this tile is supposed to be challenging, but rememeber
when the quest becomes available. Any new area after this will not
have this tile (So it won't be in the Trial of Water, The West Gate,
Path to Darkness, any bonus dungeon-- Dark Caves extra area,
Bad Ass Dungeon, Maze of Shadows, Final Crypt, or Temple of Armos.)
I will also eliminate some other places for you: Its not in a town:
So that includes Firago, Inoa, and Soma. Remember this quest is
supposed to be frustrating. But I think the Belt of Intimdation
is a good equip (the other choices are not worth it.)

Good luck.

This title screen was put together using "Googled" images
by Liataye. I wish I had this kind of artistic ability.

Puzzles, Secrets, and my beef with Zelda

Alundra was much better than a lot of Zelda games just
for the puzzles. Though Alundra's puzzles were sometimes
mindnumbingly difficult to solve.

I don't know if I will remember the first Zelda for the puzzles
or for the 50+ times I died beating the game. A Link to the
Past was a great improvement over the first (Since we are
all going to pretend the second one dosen't exist...)

Zelda has become very familiar over the years. I found the
Ocarina of Time to have very familiar puzzles.

Anyone who hasn't played Alundra and owns a PS3
should download it. Its just that good.

Giadon Saga

A difficult level choice at the start of the game would be
an interesting idea. Probably requires hard core scripting though.
Then lots of playthroughs. And trying to add the New Game +
option so that you could choose a new difficulty when you
restarted the game.... This sounds like an interesting idea.

At the moment Giadon Saga will remain as it is, but I may look
into this in the future.
