I first got interested in RPG Maker after watching X-Play do a review of RPG Maker for the Play Station. Years later I found RPG Maker VX Ace and decided to buy it. My first RPG Maker game, Dragon Lancer, was approved by Deckiller and became available to download on January 15, 2013.

Game / Engine Count:

RPG Maker VX Ace = 12
Visual Novel Maker = 3
RPG Maker MV = 2
Ren'Py = 2
Pixel Game Maker MV = 1
Solarus = 1
Inform 7 = 1

Legionwood: Tale Of The Two Swords Review

I agree with some of this, I found the battles (especially at the start of the game), a tad too difficult.

I expect games to start out easyish and increase with difficulty
over time.

The green glowing stuff that suggests where to look for stuff
was strange. I have never seen this in an RPG. I found the
towns strangly overpopulated, with characters situated in
odd places.

I didn't offer a review because I didn't play it long
enough. But I think the game deserves a higher score,
even with the difficulty level. Some people
really like this kind of game. It is also well
polished.

Looks like a boss from the Secret of Mana.
I remember how long it took me to beat that guy
the first time.

Looking for Testers

How long is the Demo? If its not too long I would be willing to test the game.

What to do if your Game Submission is denied/pending

You should go over and beyond the min requirement when
submitting a game.

It asks for 3 screen shots, but you should have 10.

It asks for 500 words and 2 paragraphs, but
consider how its formatted. Use bold lettering
for topic titles, and use bullets for lists.

If you spend time trying to polish your
presentation for them, they will feel
like you spent time on programming your game.

What Kind of Game Would You Like To See On-Site?

I would like to see an action RPG, like Alundra (See how
I didn't say Zelda.)

Alundra is probably one of the funnest, and most difficult,
rpgs I have played for the PSone. Its combination of
puzzles, battles, and story are epic. And its actually
better told than a lot of Zelda games (like Twilight Princess.)

Legend of Zelda: Origin

You should have a video tutorial on how to download this file
and play it. Because all I can do is play the old NES Zelda.

Dragon Lancer

I appreciate your feedback.

Dragon Lancer was my first game, so it uses the default RPG Maker material.
I found that as I made the game I got better at some aspects. There are some improvements in my mapping and gameplay as the game progresses.

Yes, the encounter rate is pretty high, especially at the start of the game.

I may go back in the future to fix some of this stuff, but I am currently working on my second game. In my second game I'm focusing on using more resources, such as Yanfly Battle Engine, Celianna's tiles, etc... I'm also planning on making the game world for my next game much larger with more dungeons and side quests. And the encounter rate for my first dungeon is 30.
Making a game and receiving criticism is a very important process for improvement.

I hope you enjoy what Dragon Lancer does have to offer and I am open to suggestions you may have about it.

Dragon Lancer

First, there is an image of this puzzle on the website.
The pathway that enters to the teleport enters from
the backside as you can see.

From the door way that you enter from, the third dark square in,
you should be able to turn left or right. It doesn't
matter which way you go, both directions will take you there.
From there go all the way left or all the all the way right.

There are a couple of different directions on the way to the end,
but this is a good start. Maker sure to push in all directions on
each step to learn all the different pathways if you get stuck.

I had to play through this to get this answer for you since I just
used two different black tilesets to make this puzzle. Good luck.

Timers Are Crap

Does your timer use a clock?
I think ti would be cool to have a game
where you could go back in time and the clock
would go backwards too.

Dragon Lancer

I prefer not to give too much of a hint on how to complete puzzles.
The statue does give you some sort of clue.
I'll let you know one thing: The answer to getting to that switch is in that room somewhere, but you might not be able to "see it."
