What Videogames Are You Playing Right Now?

author=Zeigfried_McBacon
So I just beat breath of the wild, though I should go back and finish a few other things in it before I take a break from it.

Just got to the point where I feel comfortable attempting the final battle. But there is still a lot I have left to see and do.

Game is fantastic. Easily the best Zelda game; one reviewer from GameInformer put it: "all the previous Zelda games feel shallow after this". And boy do they.

Early practice map in Zelda style since our team wants to make something like that for McBacon :D

someone yell at me on twitter when I can play this, it's important

What Videogames Are You Playing Right Now?

I am still playing Zelda and I am at least up to 70 hours. Probably 80.

It is great.

Hobby to Profession, Looking for success stories

I didn't become a professional game developer.

However, my desire to learn how to program games is what lead me to professionally creating medical software. True story: I used to not know how to program. I evented all kinds of stuff in RPG Maker 95.

Sure, I'm programming a game now and plan to sell it. But it's been a roundabout process.

A minor roadblock, but still chuggin'!

It's tough stuff, man. I've been in a bind in the art department as well.

I think I'm coming to the conclusion that this is the best zelda game yet.

Most likely it is. I don't want to say that until I've beat it.

But just the feeling of the world is unlike any previous game in the series. It's so rich and intoxicating.

I now regret that I didn't pre-order the game. I was going to get it yesterday, but it's pretty much out of stock everywhere. I couldn't even find the Wii U version! xD

Watching that one hour long Game Grumps episode sure is tempting, but I must control myself!

The main worry I have with the game is the potential lack of dungeons. I hope that's not the case though, since I guess it wouldn't be a Zelda game if there were no dungeons. xD

Throw your worries out the window; there's plenty of puzzle solving.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Well this game is out now and it's god damn fantastic. Here are just a few screens I snapped:

This is only the first of many incredible viewpoints.

Hardest enemy so far was this fucking bear. Lighting him on fire did jack shit.

EDIT: Upset that the only way to get screens off right now is twitter links. Blah.

Been pretty active here lately.

Most can't. But does it make sense to have RMN generate revenue so you could?
So, I've been pondering this for a while, and here's a question I would like an answer to: at the current ad revenue per page hit, etc., just how much would the activity here need to increase before the website becomes revenue-positive?

I don't know those numbers. I haven't been involved in the operation of this place for years.

And I'm pretty sure Lysander is friends with WIP. So he most likely got permission for that too. Respect game creators yo :D
OK, I obviously knew that The Frozen World is Lysander's (that's why I mentioned it there in the first place, along with The Blue Contestant, which is also his), but I didn't know that part. Not sure if The Red Contestant's developer, Umbaglo, got permission from Lysander, but given that it was uploaded on the website before any of actual Lysander's games, then....maybe? Either way, it doesn't really matter now, as it's been dormant for nearly five years.

I don't think there is really any need for a fight or drama here. BUT! I did get permission from Lys to work on TFWi. Was a pretty fun project and I learned a lot; one of the biggest things I was proud of was the on-map battles and motion-sick inducing camera.

Umbaglo got permission, I'm sure. And I'm sure of that because one time (A DECADE AGO HOLY SHIT) we were actually all hanging out at Lys's place. We even did our own OneHour compo; I took screenshots of TFWi's menus and plopped them into an RM2k3 game as a sort of Port-of-a-port-of-a-port. And it didn't work right and the game ended up just being stuck, so the PLAYER ended up being one of the stuck NPCs in the game world. That was not what I intended, but turned out way better that way, haha.

Anyway, this game looks very awesome.
