Suggestion:RPG Song of the day
author=eplipswich
This would be a good segment to add to the RMN YouTube channel :) The only thing is, it's hard to identify which games have great OSTs.
I do know a number of them though, so I can start the ball rolling. Let's hear what my other staff members have to say too :)
That's the thing. The whole idea is to pull from any user and let them submit a song. The best way I assume would be to let the RMN users submit a song via youtube link and a random song from that list would be chosen to play on a daily or weekly basis.
It can be from any RPG and we can spend a bit naming as many RPGs with great music. One thing I figured is that people often listen to the music of a game they've never played before by accident or through crossovers and they like it so much, they end up buying the original games associated with the music.
Well, I look forward to what the staff has to say. Its just a brainstorming and it could be tweaked to the point of perfection, but definitely let me know what they say.
Suggestion:RPG Song of the day
Hello RMN! I was in deep thought and had an idea. First off, let me say that everyone here knows that music is a universal language that can reach deep in our hearts and cure even the darkest of emotion. We have all played our fair share of games and there is always going to be a song that you just can't get enough of and you're dying to share it so others can hear.
Many games go overlooked and people don't think of playing them. However, every one of us should know that even good music can save a not so good game.
So what's the big idea?
Well, I was thinking if possible there could be a Song Of The Day,Week,or Month section where the RMN users or Administration could have polls of Songs to nominate that will get featured on the site's home page? A song from a game that holds a special place in your heart and memories that you want the users to hear and get inspired by. Not everyone finishes their projects and there has to be something that can motivate them to keep going.
A song could be posted and a link to a download or something could be provided for users to add to their playlists. As we all know, many of us listen to music while we are diligently working on our projects. If this eventually gets approved, I'd like to make a suggestion to get the ball rolling.
So what do you guys think? Do you all believe this would be a good segment to add and would it get approved one day?

What Videogames Are You Playing Right Now?
I am currently playing a whole lot of Shovel Knight for the first time. It truly is a love letter to 8bit gaming. Its a mixture of Super Mario Bros.3,Castlevania,Mega Man, Zelda 2, and several other NES classics. I strongly believe Shovel Knight will help me with certain segments of my game as well. I'm glad I bought the thing XD.

Operation Kentonfall (kentona steps down)
It has truly been an honor to have been a part of kentona's era. Its been quite a long time and you have shown what an active community member should be. Its nice to see new faces on board as well. I look forward to seeing how we all continue to grow, experiment, and of course create with our powerful imaginations.

eplipswich Goes Nostalgic: Fantasia (now known as Monster World Legends)
This brings back a lot of memories. 3 years ago I graduated High School lol. Very nice playthrough, you play the game very well. Man, that boss fight though XD. I remember people saying he would wait for his death getting comboed like that. I wish we could tag people on RMN, that would be awesome.

author=CaladiumHehe, everyone says that about the Monster World games. They've been described as a 2D Dragon Quest/Zelda.

Monster World Legends Game Play Update

I love the HP/MP up animation. The drops circling and going through the screen.
I find silly that a level consisting of one screen with a shop-keeper gives you a Stage Clear text, I guess it's not meant to do that...? (I like the animation though -actually I love all the fluff going on the screen in regards to that! like in the Item Test screen, Iesus!-).
The test stage looks neat, I love all the work you've put in the different stage elements.
Also Bai looks so pretty <3. And the rest of characters, I just don't know their names, but I like the birdman and the girl with the jetpack. And loving the new Lydia.
I'm glad you like how the HP/MP growth effect looks. It originally came from Monster World 4. In the original, you could only obtain life drops, but Magic drops were added as well.
Haha! That first room was for testing shops and the stage clear effects XD. The item test screen was pretty chaotic huh? The thing is, there are still quite a few summons and spells to make.
I remember a time where stages were very bland and composed of very few elements. Its a good thing because I don't want stages to appear repetitive or dry. Adding as many platform types and gameplay types keeps things fresh. I will continue to work hard so that everyone's characters are well balanced and work well with the stages and surrounding environments.
I am honored to hear that you like Bai so far :) I still got work to do with her, but I enjoy how she plays at this point. If you are curious about the characters, there is a brand new characters page on the profile. You'll learn lots about the game's world there.
And thank you :) It took a bit to find out how she should look. She along with other characters have gone through several redesigns to match the Monster World atmosphere.
Thanks for your feedback and I look forward to releasing new content in the future. Heck, you all may even get a late 2016 tech demo so you can get your hands on the new gameplay feel. Cheers!
[GM] Character Performance: Abilities or Single-Slot Equipment?
Ok, I've decided and I think this may be the best way. It mixes the concepts we have developed. There will be 2 rows 16 abilities. Each of them has limitations on how you can enhance your game play. One focuses on movement(as we have discussed), and another(the bottom one) focuses on status enhancements.
About an hour ago I changed the boots into abilities and I gotta say, I like the effects. It even eliminated 3 useless ones. For example, if you equip the Marine Skill, now it doesn't affect your gravity or speed underwater. With the mix of skills, you can now choose between fluid physics or instant-stop physics.
Thanks for all of your help Merlandese! And by the way, the project is here...
