I like how all areas are teeming with life! Really atmospheric and attractive.

In what ways have Games,Animes, or media in general changed you?

What wonderful responses so far:) It makes the term that older people say "video games teach you nothing" when in reality they can teach you numerous things. As we know, they are a variety of someone's experiences put into a digital form to teach others how to grow and what to look out for. To become as one and teach one another things that open countless doors and provide endless opportunities for younger generations.

I remember a friend that could not speak English well. Her name was Emily. Though, after playing so many matches with her and my other friends on Soul Calibur 5, she began to speak better. I was shocked as she went to saying "I kill you" to "I'll kill you"lol. Man, these memories are so darn good. Reminiscence can be a wonderful thing.

Just going to leave this here lol.

In what ways have Games,Animes, or media in general changed you?

Hello RMN! I have a question for you all. As we all know, many of us have played or watched something that has changed the way we look at things for better or for worse. Perhaps there was a character that has a similar personality to you and ends up getting chewed out by other characters for being a certain way or doing something terrible by accident or on purpose. They then grow to become a much better person by the end of their journey. The best example I can give from my experience is Luke from Tales of the Abyss. He starts off as an extremely snobby rich kid, then ends up being selfless by the end.

Maybe there was a character whose story nails you straight in the heart due to certain events in your life happening, yet they manage to overcome those events and become a better person and improve their life. However, keep in mind that scripted media isn't real life and it obviously takes longer for a person to overcome an event than a 40 hour game character or 30 minute episode.

Some characters are inspiring and the actions they take is what allows us as the players or viewers to connect to and create a fictional bond with. If a character dies and you shed no tears, its most likely because you didn't have enough time to create that bond or it was spoiled beforehand. For example, I spoiled 2 characters' deaths in Final Fantasy 7, and I didn't really cry. However, when I played Crisis Core, the bonding between characters grew to a large extent and when you link it to the original game and Advent Children, its actually very saddening.

Growing up, I was really smart aleck, and even though its nearly gone now, one of the main reasons for my growth as a human being was because of seeing what happens when some characters talk back to their parents and experiencing some in real life. I realized I had it good to not get hit the many times I should have been.

Mostly in RPGs, We've seen so much of things that happen in real life. Sibling rivalries, cheating, back stabbing, family issues, you name it. However, in some point in the story, they return to their roots. A family member that run away has come back after 10 long years or siblings that hate each other duke it out and by the end of the fight, they realize how much they are alike and that they could have been friends from the start.

Don't take this as something that will dig into your life and expose it, so if you don't feel like sharing anything, then don't. However, if you do, tell us how these have improved your personality and outlook on life.

Any kind of progress is good progress. Keep it up. Make sure this comes to fruition.
Good point! I am starting to see that now. For a while I felt that everyone was being left in the dark for so long, they lost interest. And I will absolutely push until we reach our destination. Its thanks to all of you that it actually has come this far. Thank you for your support:)

Deleting old versions: A good or bad idea?

author=jomarcenter
Well we usually store old release versions in archive while have at least 5 previous version available for download if there any case the latest version broke on a specific system or user's PC (ex version 1.0 works on PC1 then version 1.1 is release and PC1 can't run them properly but PC2 works fine) because of a update.

Edit:
And yes I returned from a freaking long hitus.

Another good point! Recently I have been thinking a lot about the players and gave them a dual soundtrack in my previous demo release. This not only is a good feature, but its also for systems that don't support MP3. Most systems(if not all) support midi, so the soundtrack will play regardless of your system. MP3 was added for a high quality sound experience for people who simply don't like Midi. Plus, you can edit the midi track's instruments with your preferred program and MP3s altogether.

I'll find out what do do with this, I strongly believe an old Archive section is best. And welcome back!...um I've never met you before, but glad you are back. I'll check your profile to see what you are making.

Sounds like an interesting idea, though implementing characters like Mario and Link would be difficult. I imagine communication between characters would be important, and Mario and Link's vocabularies aren't exactly varied.

Good point. However, they exactly don't have to speak. In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, it was evident that actions speak more than words. Perhaps other characters could do the explaining like Zelda. You would come across Link and he's hurt by Ganon's new powers he somehow achieved. The character shows up and it's obvious that you are trying to help him so he gives a "nod" or something, heals with something and the battle continues with you pairing up with Link.

It just depends on what the design document would ensure them to do or say if anything.

I've never heard of a game letting people download old outdated versions of it, and I can't imagine any reason why you'd want to do so. The idea sounds pretty ridiculous to me.
Archival/Historical purposes is usually a motivator in these cases. There's quite a few people out there who want to document the differences between a game in its original state upon release and its state post-patching. I don't see any harm in doing this for a free game, or a game long past its profitability.

For a demo with 11 different builds, though? Taking old builds down probably wouldn't hurt.

Good point! I already took down every old demo as of this morning. Maybe I'll add an old archive section in the game page, but not the download section. It was painful having to go back and play them all because their game play was awkward. But, we all gotta start from somewhere correct?

Well, to be honest, I've always wanted to make a Kingdom Hearts type of game where original characters end up meeting characters from other game worlds(not by jumping into a game or TV). Rather than a character going to worlds of a specific company (Disney in this case), the character(s) would travel a small chunk of worlds that are both from obscure games and games we all know and love. Of course, it wouldn't exactly be all original scenes because KH puts Sora in the middle of Disney character's original stories.

If this were to be created, it would do the same by putting these characters in the middle of each game's most memorable moments. For example, lets say our hero goes through this and that; eventually ending up in the Mushroom Kingdom and meets Mario as a temporary party member in Super Mario 64, or ends up in Hyrule to join Link to fight Ganondorf, Dream Land, Mega Man's World(Earth), Mobius(Sonic), Final Fantasy, and a bunch of other worlds that are being threatened by a new evil that gives villains more power than ever. It would probably take a team to pull something like this off, but its just an idea I'm putting out there.

The only reason why this idea sort of came to mind is because in Kingdom Hearts, Sora only travels through Disney Worlds and not any from FF, and I have absolutely no complaints about that or their design choices. However, It would be cool to see small chunks based on worlds from Final Fantasy such as Ultimecia's Castle from FF8 or Alexandria from FF9.

What was your reason for leaving them up in the first place?

That's a good question. I guess it was for nostalgic purposes in the past. Now I realize as development gets deeper that it isn't necessary to have old news up. I figured having one demo up only would prevent any confusion. At one point I was thinking that maybe it would be good for people to see how far a project has come, but in the end, they really don't need to see those any longer.

Its like people say, sometimes nostalgia can be both a good and bad thing in any creative work.
