ITCH.IO SCANDAL :: CHECK YOUR NAMES AND GAMES!

This is a real shocker. I experienced this when a recent demo was released about a couple weeks ago. All of a sudden, a fake account came under my name with all the projects I've worked on. It even said that I created Mega Man Revenge of the Fallen; which is 100% FALSE! Obviously, the person with the fake account didn't do any research at all XD.

Instead of messing around with this, I emailed itch.io directly with an account I created on the spot to notify them of it. The next day, the fake account was terminated immediately. Bottom line is, be careful where you place your work, because there is a chance someone may pretend to be you and distribute viruses and other junk like others have been discussing in this topic. Such despicable behavior.

I'm just interested in S1, S2, and S4. So from my perspective it is already more than ready. Any news?

Not quite yet. The hosts of SAGE say that July is the month they will hold the event, I'll most likely be adding the game then since I missed SAGE 2017. There is a different project I'm working on at the time that will help improve the quality of the this one. I'll be sure to post something very soon. Thank you for your concern :)

Whatchu Workin' On? Tell us!

Depending on the situation and the game, I would back up every time you believe you've done a significant or decent amount of work. Also remember to save often. I've had several terrible things happen to my projects by not backing up or saving. Corruption, the engine or computer freezing before I get to save, power outages, pulling my flash drive out too fast directly after saving, the list goes on and on.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who can say that they've went hours without saving and all of a sudden something happens and you're set back in a time machine to when you last saved. Ugh! Be prepared for anything.

Whatchu Workin' On? Tell us!

Currently working on re-imagining parts of Monster World 4. I love the original so much, but I thought that the castle was a bit small. Lately, I've been looking at pictures or areas around the world, getting inspiration from areas such as throne rooms, dining halls, bath houses, and other locations. The result ended up with this...

Have you considered being more interesting?

This article is a God send. Thanks a lot for this! I also heavily agree about the advertisement bit. Sega fans this year were disappointed by a falsely advertised Sonic game. They got us all hyped up to see "this and that" but ultimately failed because they took our expectations and tossed them into a volcano. Like you mentioned, hype isn't a really good idea if you can't live up to what you're advertising.

Nightkeep's demo on Thursday

Demo? Great news! Looking forward to it :D

Could you post a new demo with more levels please? Thank you

I'll certainly try my best to. This is one of 3 projects that are planned to be released some time in 2018. I appreciate your concern.

Anybody got tips on how to stay focused on making projects?

When your mind is always wondering about new concepts and ways to handle things, it is common and very easy to stray from your game to get another one started, but from experience I can say that doing so is a double-edged sword. You want to stay focused? Don't stray too far from your project's goals and try your absolute best to plan out most (if not all) of the game ahead of time. Don't start too many projects at once, or you'll be hopping from one project to the other and won't finish any as fast or efficiently as you initially wanted.

Right now, I'm currently juggling 3 separate projects. Even if I mentioned that starting too many projects at once can be a bad thing, it can also be a good thing depending on why you're doing it in the first place. The most recent one forced me to do and learn things that I was too inexperienced or lazy to do before and I'm extremely happy with the results. That way, when I return to a previous project, everything learned can be applied to it to improve its overall quality.

I like to think of projects as "kids". Some people don't wait until their first kid is fully grown to have another one right? Sometimes, that kid may get bored and want a sibling. The first few "kids" may be okay, but what happens when you have like 10 of em'? You'll be switching back from each one so much, you won't know how to handle them all and get frustrated and that leads to hiatus' and much, much worse...cancellations. Setting my analogy aside, the point is that if you have more than one project, set a small and strict limit of how many projects you want to jump between and don't go beyond that point until you've finished one. Got a new idea? Either put it in a current project, or save it for later. There will be plenty of opportunity to try out your new ideas in the future.

Let's work on your game descriptions!

Thanks PineBox :D I went in and made the changes. To be honest, I hadn't even noticed any of those. Man, I need a refresher with grammar and punctuation lol.

Let's work on your game descriptions!

Thanks a bunch :D. This helped a lot! Going back to edit now. Also, should "Knight" be upper or lowercase since it's also not a name?
