Hair metal style. Wear make up, tease up your hair so it looks huge, wear spandex, tight denim, or tight leather pants, wear a headband, and use lots of accessories - like metal studs and stuff. Don't forget to keep talking about parties you've had, and end everyone of your sentences with "dude". Watch a Poison music video for an example of what you need to look like.
Alternatively, you can be a real American hero, just like GI Joe! Wear a military uniform and go around preaching to people about drugs and violence.

I'm pretty sure that you need to buy miniatures separately. Character sheets should come with the handbook. Alternatively, you should be able to print some offline.
I'm interested in playing D&D but I don't have a group to play with. :-\
