I'm Nurvuss and I like making music and games and writing stuff. Sometimes it seems that I never have enough time to do any of these things. Let's be pals!

I think it's just different enough. It's eccentric and cute but it doesn't overtly resemble Earthbound.
Anime List
Cowboy Bebop is my favorite anime series. It's stylistic, self-aware, sad and fun, with fantastic music and visuals. There's a fair bit of symbolism and metaphor in there that goes *way* beyond hyperbole, and it's open-ended enough to allow different audiences their own readings. Really smart.
Coming in close second is Paranoia Agent, which I feel is probably the best anime series available. Satoshi Kon, rest his soul, was a genius who exercised a wonderful understanding of philosophy, fandom and consumer media through his lens of highly-skilled dadaist animation. Everybody should see Paranoia Agent, and Kon's other works, even if they don't like anime.
My favorite anime movie is Tekkonkinkreet, based on the manga of the same name by the inimitable Taiyo Matsumoto. Similar to Kon's works, the film is animated in a distinctly recognizable and unconventional style. While action-packed, exciting and visually stunning, it also happens to be a heartbreaking story of adolescent same-sex love. Makes me cry every time. Coming in close second would be Ghost in the Shell 1&2 for me.
I've just started watching Psycho Pass, which I think is a very competent cyberpunk anime. Almost as good as Ghost in the Shell. It's by Urobuchi Gen, and while I didn't think too highly of Madoka, he's proved himself with Psycho Pass. I'm also watching Crunchyroll's simucasts of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Season 3, and DRAMAtical Murder, two anime series which are very ridiculous but visually arresting.
As for animation made outside Japan...I'm enjoying Bob's Burgers a lot at the moment. I'm a big fan of Loren Bouchard's shows and of Jon Benjamin as a voice actor/comedian. I was an avid watcher of Home Movies when it was on the air.

My first game, story suggestions?
What's the setting? The attire of your sprites look like they run the gamut from high fantasy armor to modern-day street clothes.
What Videogames Are You Playing Right Now?
Devil Summoner Raidou 2 was just released on PSN. It fixes a lot of the problems that plagued Devil Summoner R1. The encounter rate is still a bit high, but it's an immensely enjoyable experience and you don't need to play the first game to understand the plot.
Here's a list of the quests you need to complete to reach #1.

I love SMT IV. Problem is, I think I got stuck in a side quest limbo:
*MINOR SPOILERS FOR SMT IV AHEAD:*
I got locked into the Neutral Route. Now I have to do every sidequest I can to get myself to #1 in the Hunter Tournament. The problem is, I've done all the sidequests that I can accept, and I'm only at #2. All I have left to do are delivery quests, and I have no idea where to go to get the items. I've been to every Hunter's Association, but no new quests are available for me to do.
Here's a list of the quests you need to complete to reach #1.

Oh buddy, you have got to re-optimize that character portrait. That fellow is looking a bit unnaturally stretched.
Aside from that, I think this looks really great.

[Poll] PS2 Vs. XBox Vs. GameCube
Gamecube had a great controller and the best technical performance...
...but the PS2 just has an unbeatable library. So large, so varied. Seven Shin Megami Tensei titles.
I still have my bad boy hooked up. I liked the PSP so much because it felt like a continuation of the core values of the PS2's bizarro library.

Is Marketing Killing the Wonder of Games?
I used to think the Persona series was a truly subversive masterpiece of postmodern storytelling and game design.
I felt Persona 4 was a turning point at which it began to pander to otaku fanbases: stripping down (or removing) the most interesting characteristics in lieu of yet another idealized hetero-male Japanese high school fantasy that we see in so many anime series and visual novels.
And now sure enough, there's a media-mix empire of TV anime, character merchandise, lame stage shows and fanservice side games about dancing girls. I can't stand it. I hate it. I don't care any more.
And yes, I know that my opinion is unpopular.
edit: for an example that more people can probably agree with, Squaresoft was once a wonderfully-inventive development house that were not afraid to take risks, as demonstrated by their late-90s Playstation experiments. How successful these experiments were are debatable, but it's undeniable that they were unique. Now it's just franchise, franchise, franchise...We'll never see anything like Bushido Blade, Racing Lagoon or Einhander from them again.
Indie games seem to be where all the unfiltered creativity is, these days.

Would U play an FFX 2D made with RM2K3? (first screenshot)
Making FFX in RPG Maker 2003 is like making the Venus de Milo out of Duplos.
I actually feel pretty dirty using the Venus de Milo as a simile for FFX, but you get the point I'm trying to make.
