Hmm... I never gave the whole 'secret identity' much thought. But it would require a large rewrite of the story because most of it hinges on what I mentioned above. And House Liangale is sworn to protect the royal family ( much like your Milhavens and Lunets XD ) and it is their duty, male or female, to protect Genoa with full honour and integrity. A peaceful existence would not sit well with these fighters that have protected the royal family for over 2000 years. ;)

Only Tristian and Darcy getting KO'd would be result in a Game Over in battle. As for Tristian protecting Ianna in the gameplay sense, everytime they fight a battle, their Support level goes up, which unlocks Passive Skills which will gradually reduce both their damage taken ( both from physical and magical attacks ) and it is always active as long as both of them are in your party.
In the story line sense, Tristian's survival literally protects Ianna from the Ebony Hand in the game; because long ago, both their ancestors made a pact to protect each other. This became known as Argi's Bond, and as long as a descendant of Argi lives, the royal bloodline will remain protected. Of course, it's more complicated than it sounds, but the other details are in the game itself. =)

Welp, guess I should feel a bit chuffed that Enelysion got an honourary mention for Best Sound and Music. XD That Audio folder makes up 80% of the game's size, after all.
