Does this need to be 'remade'?

Well, Laine and co. will make a cameo in Tristian because the two game worlds are linked so...

As for the blog itself, I don't know whether I was being serious or not ( I wrote the blog because I was bored at work >< and I am a pretty serious dev myself. I hardly fool around in the Welp, Welp thread, for one ). I also need to stop being reminded of whether I'm an A-list RMdev or not. That mentality has got to go. But I do appreciate the words of encouragement nonetheless ( it would have been met with cold indifference on another site that I have every reason to hate ).

So thanks guys. I always know I can count on you. Doubting oneself is a terrible hindrance.

Does this need to be 'remade'?

Maybe there's an underlying reason as well. Maybe I still find it hard to properly let go of a project I've been working on since 2011, a project that made me a 'name' in the RM community, if you could call it that, and a project that brought me equal amounts of happiness and sometimes even depression.

Yes, I know sequels and prequels exist, but it isn't the same.

Forgive me for rambling. I'll go back to my den and work on Tristian now.

Random Art Topic

Tested out Clip Studio's blending by working on a fanart that I've been busy with since May. ><

Tristian is taking up too much of my time to even get art done. And this Fire Emblem character, whose Japanese name is Luchino, was the inspiration for her.

Does this need to be 'remade'?

I just feel or felt, that the game could have been better. That's all. I want Tristian to surpass this game on so many levels it hurts. Because I know it's better.

My self-doubt is one of biggest flaws as well. Mentally, I do think of myself as a 'star developer who has inspired who knows how many people with her level design, but sometimes seeks the reassurance of like-minded people that such thinking doesn't come across as big-headed/arrogant' etc.

I'm also a dev who doesn't go around shoving her games onto every social media/RM-related site ( I stopped updating my game threads on RMW more than a year ago ). Because I am modest to the point of invisibility.

Anyway, that's just a ramble. I posted this blog while at work too.

What are you thinking about right now?

The Fire Emblem I knew and loved is gone. FE14/FE: Fates came out in Japan today and I felt nothing.

Lions in sheep's clothing or vice-versa?

True. Medieval politics is awfully interesting. Indeed, almost as interesting as the daily circus that occurs here in my home country ( South Africa >< ). I kind of wish developers would look to our real-life history and draw inspiration from it, rather than making another darn FF-fangame.

I made a few mapping mistakes though. >< And that statue isn't mind, unfortunately, but it does blend well with everything else, at least. Also, auto-shadows need to die.

@ED: Definitely tint #1. I literally squinted at the others because either they're too harsh or have too much contrast/saturation. #4 would probably work better for a sunset.

As for that map, I've just started on the area now =)

Trying to give the forest a magical vibe without making it seem too otherworldly.

Lions in sheep's clothing or vice-versa?

So very true. I wish there were more JRPG devs like Matsuno. The medium would become so much more interesting, instead of seeing the same rehashes of stories we've seen close to 100 million times. Quite sure he added the demons and save the world plot to make it seem more familiar to the FF demographic. ><

Anyway, Tristy does try to break away from the generic JRPG plot, but will probably only appeal to a certain players who like real politick and the works.
