Final Fantasy 13 Delayed

FF13 was never delayed. It never had a release date to begin with. It was simply announced that there will be no North American release on any console until 2010. The Japanese PS3 version is coming out Q4 of 2009. Also the first version that we are getting will be the (tentatively) 'International' version, which has been a common re-release method that SquareEnix has used on previous Final Fantasy games, essentially to fix any bugs and re-balance the way that the leveling system works to make it less exploitable.

Diablo 3 or Starcraft 2

Kentona has the basic idea with what is wrong in the RTS industry as of late. Thankfully the Red Alert/C&C series has been keeping it real.

Although I am waiting for an all-out Lord of the Rings RTS SANS-Hero Units.

What corporation are you a slave to?

Well under what pretty artwork like that is worth, but enough that it isn't a trifle.

And actually, Prexus, if you know of any good examples of pillars like that in this perspective I can use as a reference for my artist, she doesn't grasp how it's wrong naturally and I don't know how to explain it to her properly. We've tried to fix them a few times, but eventually we decided our time would be better spent elsewhere.

I tried looking for an example but wouldn't you know it, most RPGs have those pillars extend to the top of the screen (eliminating the need for the tops).

I imagine the top part would simply be a perfect circle. Following the logic towards the perspective I outlined in the first part, that makes the most sense. But, if it looks weird (and it might).. a compromise of sorts is likely in order.

Look at the RTP barrels for RMXP, they should technically be a full circle on top, or close to the perspective that your artist used for the pillar, but they are somewhere in between. That's probably the best example I can give.

Also the perspective on the top of the pillars is wrong, Badluck. It matches the Panorama, but not the game view. 2D RPGs use a weird type of eagle-eye view, that is essentially Top Down, if the surface is flat, and straight-on if the surface is tall.

MDK
Playstation, PC

I remember MDK. It's by Shiny, you know, the guys who made Earthworm Jim, Wild 9, and all that good shit. As a kid I rented this game and I had a lot of fun with it, it's really quirky, yet has a sleek, dark atmosphere to it. I liked how the main character had that helmet that also served as a sniper rifle, and the atmospheric reentry parts of the game (freefalling through hundreds of feet from the sky) were excellent as well. This game was very weird but it was very fun as well, and I wish that more modern games had the same feel and personality.

MDK was an awesome game. So was Klax. You are reviewing some of my childhood favorites.

I guess I should say "I'm Back"?

Like I said, all I ever released were short demos. Probably the best of them was Umbral Wake, or possibly Silver Star Complex. Both actually taking from the same roots (demo-projects for ABSes) Although, Umbral Wake was fully realized as an entire game. I just never finished it because I got overwhelmed with making the ABS more complicated than necessary.

Actually, probably my only fully released start-to-finish game was my entry for the Dungeon Contest at rmxp.org

It was definitely a rushed project, with a low of flaws, but a lot of people enjoyed it.

I guess I should say "I'm Back"?

Nope. I'm catching up on it since I only started watching in Season 4. I am about halfway through the second season and much prefer characters like Cameron and Chase being main characters.
