SBESTER'S PROFILE
I've been an active member for quite a few years now. I started my RMN career by releasing the Eden Legacy Trilogy of games (each entry took 4 months of nonstop work) within one year, and I've gradually shifted to creating other games as well. I now have 3 flagship series: Eden Legacy, Fragile Hearts, and Mafiosi (being remade for commercial release as Crime Opera). I'm pretty much solely focused on the Crime Opera series of visual novels right now, as my band and job currently take up most of my free time.
Currently working on

A Nightmare in Sunnydale

ANYA is my favorite Buffy character. I just looked at the characters page, saw her, and I was very happy.

A moment of silence for a hero, a friend, JKB.

Yes, I guess the community likes things they can praise without playing. And I'm not being sarcastic.
We'll have to agree to disagree. I only play full and complete games, and I'm quite sure I'm not the only one.

Yep, added a few minor characters from your novel, changed lots of NPC dialogue throughout the game, added new story elements, also tried to clear up a few things about the mythology. Not quite done all that yet, but it's coming along.
Edit: I should also add that I've changed the look of some of the areas. I was always very unhappy with the mountains area, so now it has some cloudy skies in the background and the mountain rock looks a lot better than the old rolling hills (basically, they were tree tops before).

I think there would be enough here to warrant a second play through if you're into replaying games. I never really do, but I've tried to make it different enough for second time players.
Encephalon trilogy shortened to duology
Sorry to hear, I really saw potential for a slew of episodes. The universe you created for these games is one of the coolest ideas ever.
I'd try my hand at it, but atm I've got my hands full. Here's hoping someone picks the series up, as you can be sure I'll be playing this when you release it!

Pre-Production Begins!

there are uh
an awful lot of these games
There really are, I set a deadline of 5 months completion time each for the first three games (just to make sure they got finished, unlike so many of my past projects). They were all released in 2010. With the new trilogy collection editions, I'm hoping the first three games will be more fun to play, with a lot less bugs, and more up to RMN standards (I've really worked hard at improving them based on the reviews). 16bit designed games take a bit longer though, so it's harder to release them as quickly. We promise to spend as much time as we need to make this a fun and decent length adventure, without the fear of it ever becoming vaporware.

well, it can definitely end, so that implies a beginning.
pre-production usually means pre-implementation, and the steps before that are requirements analysis and design.
Right you are! I've never actually worked with a partner on a game before, so it's been interesting to see how it will all play out. Pre-production in this sense meant planning out the story, the gameplay systems, and agreeing on a graphical style as well. We haven't quite finished planning all of those yet, but it's going well, we think. By working with a fan of the series, he's really helped me to understand what works and what doesn't work, and how we can improve every aspect while bringing it into the 16bit era of RPGs.
