SBESTER'S PROFILE

I've been an active member for quite a few years now. I started my RMN career by releasing the Eden Legacy Trilogy of games (each entry took 4 months of nonstop work) within one year, and I've gradually shifted to creating other games as well. I now have 3 flagship series: Eden Legacy, Fragile Hearts, and Mafiosi (being remade for commercial release as Crime Opera). I'm pretty much solely focused on the Crime Opera series of visual novels right now, as my band and job currently take up most of my free time.

Currently working on
-Crime Opera Trilogy (Mafiosi 1, 2, & 3 edited, with all original resources)
-It's a secret...
Crime Opera II: The Floo...
The kids have grown up, and they're becoming quite dangerous.

Dragon Quest IX

Oh how I long for a DS.
Anyone know if the 3DS will be backwards compatible? Or should I just go out and get a regular DS now before it disappears?

Let's discuss...Suikoden!

I own them all, but haven't played 4 or 5. I think I got 20 mins into the third before getting fed up with the walk speed lol.
I'm just now replaying them all, just beat 1 for the second time (with all 108 this time) and I'll be playing the second game for the second time very soon. Hopefully I'll make it through all of them this time.

Controversy: Which FF game ruined the series?

Considering each title has nothing to do with the last, I think this topic is rather stupid. Some are better than others, but to blame any one title for destroying the ones that followed makes no sense to me. There are also different teams working on separate entries, so maybe commenting on those teams would be more worthwhile.

i like how all 4 or so other reviews give it like, a 4+ but this is a 2. another good job sol, you obviously know what you're talking about.
Sarcasm can be a beautiful thing if used artistically.

Yeah I also took it to be sarcastic.... could be wrong though.

I'm slowly trudging through this game at the moment, and the only big complaint that I have is the characters, like Soli said. So far, none of them are likable, and I keep hoping that will turn around eventually. I skipped the spoilers part so I'll have to keep playing and see.

Legend of Zelda: Origin

I'm not one for Zelda games but this one particularly appeals to me, downloaded!

I got nothin'. Aside from a few bright spots, the game really did suck.
This is my favorite childhood RPG. How dare you slander it in a serious manner! :P
Well.

The translation sucked ass, the combat had a great idea (Additions) but ruined it by making you only able to pick one per battle (so you're doing the same fucking Addition turn after turn), the voice acting was terrible, the music was...okay (except for a few great tracks), the graphics were...eh.

I mean it's playable, but damn bro, play some Chrono Cross, Xenogears, or Breath of Fire IV if you want some quality gatdam

Xenogears is my fave. Legend of Dragoon is my #2 though...

Stop pretending pokemon is good, ppl.

The goal of a game

I play different RPGs for different reasons.

Just finished writing the strategy Guide for Eden Legacy II.
About to complete the beta version map of Eden Legacy III.
Waiting to hear from final beta tester so I can put up the download for Eden Legacy II.
Avoiding my final essay of my masters degree when I should really get that done tonight.
Thinking about food.
Multi-tasking= fun.

Transcend

Very classic folktale-esque story, I like it.
