SBESTER'S PROFILE
I've been an active member for quite a few years now. I started my RMN career by releasing the Eden Legacy Trilogy of games (each entry took 4 months of nonstop work) within one year, and I've gradually shifted to creating other games as well. I now have 3 flagship series: Eden Legacy, Fragile Hearts, and Mafiosi (being remade for commercial release as Crime Opera). I'm pretty much solely focused on the Crime Opera series of visual novels right now, as my band and job currently take up most of my free time.
Currently working on
-Crime Opera Trilogy (Mafiosi 1, 2, & 3 edited, with all original resources)

I wonder how long it'll be before I become disillusioned with RPG Maker and try to foist my "vision" of indie game development utopia upon RMN and heap disdain on all things RM related
"A Call to Arms for Decent Men"
I kinda agree with LockeZ. Except for maybe the last part, because part of free speech should include being able to use hate speech and intimidation tactics. Eye for an eye there.
Also, people blow the whole online game bullying thing way out of proportion. Playstation Home used to be a really fun time until Mods started locking us in our rooms for stepping out of line even a little bit. My best friend and I had so much fun on there. He would have an avatar that looked like Jesus, and he'd go around preaching nonsensical retarded crap, and people would actually follow him in droves because he would abuse the glitches (gliding on air was the coolest) and they wanted him to teach them everything he knew. Of course, when all was said and done, he never taught anyone any of it lol. Fast forward a few months, he was banned for life because he refused to change his avatar. The mods said he was bullying Christians. Fuck that. And of course, I had the skinny avatar chick, and crowds of sad losers would line up to hit on me. Right when they thought they had my interest, I'd change my avatar to a fat, ugly, purple tinted troll. Mods banned me for two weeks because I was "attacking egos". LOL. Yeah, it was a pathetic sort of bullying, but anyone who wants to get depressed over it and go commit suicide, be my guest.
It's not to say the whole online bullying thing as a whole isn't a problem. I recently heard about a young girl who killed herself over facebook comments on her page. But honestly, how do you fight against something like that? If someone is truly that emotionally fragile, any little thing could set them off.
I'm being way too vague here, as I could write a book for each side of the argument. That's just the top of my head tip of the iceberg diddy that I'll both start and end with, so as not to write too long.

Translating is fun! Who knew?

It depends on the translation ;_;
Quite true. I remember having to translate old English to modern English in University using a friggin' text book, and it was awful. Gave me the right interpretation skills though.
Now that I'm using various new kinds of technology to do it, it's about 500x faster, and surprisingly a whole lot easier overall as well.

Under-Rated Games People Should Play
author=Makotoauthor=sbesterEchoing this. Sakura Wars: So Love, My Love (Sakura Taisen V) is one of my favorite games this gen. A fantastic Visual Novel/SRPG hybrid in one hell of a unique setting.
Sakura Taisen 1-5. Although only the fifth one has been localized, PC versions of the first 4 are pretty easy to come by online and there are English guides for them on gamefaqs that are really well done. I've gone through the first two already, have the third one lined up. They're easy to play too, so getting by the japanese menus is no problem. Not so much underrated as underlocalized.
I really should get around to playing the others, I'm told that V is actually one of the weaker entries. Sounds almost to good to be true.
There's a torrent for the "premium edition" that has 1-4 PC versions, which is how I got them. Someone just started a translation for SW1, but I don't expect that to pan out since nothing's been heard since its announcement. Anyways, I enjoyed both the ones I played a lot, and it even inspired my newest project, being a VN/RPG hybrid itself.

What Videogames Are You Playing Right Now?
Idk, I just played the Twin Snakes (remake of MGS1) and thought it was the worst game I'd played in like 5 years. I seem to remember the original being much better though (better controls, no awful screen adjustments, no matrix styled cutscenes with Snake doing crazy slow motion high flying backflips... like wtf were these guys thinking?). I have the PS3 HD collection, but since trying and failing to get through Twin Snakes, I just really don't have the motivation to start it up.
