Blood Shard

I was hoping to try your game, but the download link is broken atm.

Those monsters (as is everything else) are well drawn.

You might want to change those text strings to say: "Look where? (left-click on a tile) You see a sun-bleched scroll ($100)."

Looks sweet, will your version also have a bottomless bag? I remember there was a special bag in the original game that could hold over 100 items... sucked if you forgot where you dropped it :)

♪M.o.M.♪ The Forest Mists

I like this! Good choice of instruments to set the mood, melodies & harmonies trailing off to different paths in a mysterious, peaceful forest. Sometimes the adventurers find their paths coming to eerie dead-ends (0:58 - 1:09), and the last section from 1:10 to 1:33 is beautifully composed too.

What program did you use to make this by the way?

Characters

Bow's real name is actually Bosch, shortened as such since the translators didn't know how to work around the letter limitations in BoF2.

The crates seem to stand out because they're the only objects here that have a full black outline - and they also have no shadows. Try toning the outlines brown and they should fade better into the scenery.

To nitpick, a tiny mapping error in the upper right corner with the dirt/grass seams.

Otherwise, a nicely laid-out map you have here!

Demo on the way!

I'm looking forward to this new mystery project of yours, more eager to see what it's about than most other new game releases going on, in fact. Did you move to use custom resources? Are you going to impress us with your scripting? What's the setting? If there's anything you can share about the project I'm sure many who've been amazed by the quality in your last game would be eager to hear details :)

Earth to Midgard. Come in Midgard

Looks great for a first draft! Still it's missing some areas that were in the original game, like the bazaar, the volcano area, and all the small dungeons... (I don't know what Valkyries' steppes in the middle is about.) Of course your version doesn't need to include everything exactly as it was in the original...

You should maybe think of getting rid of the editor autoshadows. Here for example the shadow along the left wall doesn't work with the light coming from the window very well at all.

Florence.

I just finished the game. The ending was great and uplifting like many here already pointed out. (By the way, in the concert stage, what's an upright viola - isn't that a cello?) Hope you'll be making more games in the future! Your writing for the characters was well done here.
