I am CashmereCat now.

Twisted baubles replace my brain and I am toxic yet nice. There's a lot to me, but also not a lot going on up there, they say. PM me because I love attention, I do interviews, I do reviews, I do stuff. Here for the long haul. Gotta hustle.
I'm working on whatever I'm working on, and I love RPG Maker games that aren't traditional RPGs. Puzzlers, interactive stories, but nothing too abstract that'll weird me out. Just give me a polished gem and I'll stare at it for days, marveling at the way the light reflects just right, inner inflections, potato top pie.
I want to make games with you.

@Mr_Detective Yeah, I'd get rid of the "And", and make it just: "Do you know which way our school is?". If you need to put a word there, it'd be "but", not "and": "But do you know which way our school is?"
I prefer the one without the "but" though.

In fact, most of it will just be varying architecture and roads, I'd presume.

What Videogames Are You Playing Right Now?

It's better than Minecraft
Sounds intriguing. Is it comparable to Minecraft? What's the game about?
It's comparable to Minecraft in that it's essentially a block-building game, though not in the way you'd expect. Also, the gameplay mechanics are actually spoilers, so I don't want to ruin anything. Yeah, that's how obscure it is ;)
What Videogames Are You Playing Right Now?
I am playing Starseed Pilgrim. I recommend everyone to at least give a try for half an hour, because it is one of the deepest games I know. The creator of Braid, Jonathan Blow, said it's his favourite game of the year, and that he's surprised that the media hasn't gobbled up on it by now. It's a small 20MB but the possibilities are endless.
It's better than Minecraft.
I repeat, it's better than Minecraft.

Help With Sprites on RPG2K3
I use Paint.NET. GIMP is too frickin' difficult for me to use :I I think Paint.NET is more user-friendly.

So how should I fix these two dialogues to be more grammatically correct? :Pauthor=Hazumu
And do you know which way our school is?author=Me
Hm... I was wondering about that. Is it at the north direction from here?
Thanks for your help. :P
The first one's OK, from my perspective.
The second one, I'd say this.
"Hmmm, I was wondering about that. Isn't it north from here?"
You could say it in many ways, but I don't think "at the north direction" is correct. And I'd say you use "isn't it" to indicate that he's guessing.

@TDS this belongs in the screenshot thread, but it's still amazing. I like the grey aesthetic. The pot on the bottom-right doesn't fit though -- it's got black edges whereas all the other ones are, well, grayer.
Immersion vs. Game Mechanics
author=LockeZ
If your definition of immersion is engaging gameplay
I'm meaning immersion as in the deep mental involvement of the mind in the world of the game. A game with outstanding visuals, rich soundscape and engaging atmosphere such as Journey, Dear Esther or even RPG-Maker-game Star Stealing Prince, may lack in the gameplay department, but each gameplay mechanic serves the overall immersion of the game.
I am of the view that if a gameplay mechanic does not serve the immersion of the play in the game's experience, then it deserves to be discarded. Pushing limitations on a game such as this increases the innovation, and I think there should be less focus on "engaging fun gameplay" in games, but rather innovation and new, adventurous experiences. Ico, for example, is a really good model of gameplay supporting immersion. It's just a basic platformer basically, with light puzzle elements etc., but it's set in a world so vibrant and immersive, that it's one of the best games made of all time, and engages you from start to finish.
