How do you usually approach to choosing games for your reviews

I usually just scroll through the list of completed games and look for something that sounds interesting. Of course, this has led to me playing a lot of shitty games on purpose over the years.

I also like to pseudo participate in events every now and again by Let's Playing or reviewing some of the games that came out of them. Which was the main reason I took a crack at "Dragon's Gate".

Oh, not to say you don't (in case it felt like that).

It didn't. Though, I imagine you get a lot more requests for that kind of stuff then I do.

Any feedback is in high demand

Usually. Though sometimes you run into developers like RedWall10.

Cool : ) I see!

Sadly, I imagine the game is going to frustrate me later because I'm planning on covering the gold tournament. And tournaments in that game are comprised of fighting waves of enemies. In the case of the gold tournament you need to clear 50. And there's no way to save between rounds. So once, you get started on a tourney you need to commit yourself to it.

Dragon's Gate

Well, I got a review in the queue for this game. Though, who knows how long that will take to clear considering one of my reviews has been stuck in it for around two weeks at this point.

Honestly all of this talk about reviews just keeps reminding me that I got four of them in queue at the moment.

I think it's also why it is easier for peeps to write me a pm about maybe taking a look at their game.

I've been messaged about covering games before as well. Though, usually its in order to Let's Play them. It's the main reason I've been putting so much attention and effort into "Fantasy Forever Revisions" over the last couple of weeks. Albeit, the game still has a few bugs it needs to work out. And, it probably needs a little more time and effort put into balancing out combat. On the plus side, the game does feature a lot of voice acting. Albeit from a cast that is highly inexperienced and sometimes is so far away from the microphone that it's hard to hear them over the sound of the music.

Sadly, the developer doesn't seem interested in setting up an account on RPGMaker.net. Though, I suppose I could bug him about setting up a game page on his behalf.

If your curious he and his team also worked on "Everton's Deck" for the 2014 IGMC.

(I'd been wondering this for quite a while but seeing my games which were anything but buzzing listed amongst the buzzing games recently, while a pleasant surprise, prompted this inquiry.)

Oddly enough, one of the games that generated the most amount of conversation was because of a back and forth between me and another member over whether one of the characters in the game should be considered a potential rapist/sex offender. A discussion that got so heated that the comment section to my review had to be closed.

Nhubi was a blessing with her reviews. She was quite critical (Kylaila is too kind. I like her reviews, but she's often too kind) and that was good. She wasn't afraid to sink a game.

Yeah, I'm not afraid to sink a game, but I often feel like I don't go into enough detail.

What's next, we going to argue about whose had the longest wait period between submitting a review and getting it approved?

Fever the Ghost - Stats

I imagine a lot of people miss her. After all, she was probably one of the best reviewers this site ever had.

I don't even know what Discord is. Then again, I'm a weirdo that doesn't even have a Facebook or Twitter account.

And, I usually don't go out of my way to talk to people on steam.

Jeez, you'd think this thread would have gotten a few more comments then this. After all, I thought we loved stats on this site.

Devil Hunter: Seeker of Power Review

Nowadays developers are more aware of players that try out everything a game allows.

I suppose, though I managed to shock the developer of Zoids | Whisper by deploying a tactic that made use of a lot of instant cast abilities to stun lock my opponents into submission. A strategy that required me to equip a lot of high risk/high reward equipment. In fact, my Let's Play for that game caused the developer to go back and refine their game in order to nerf just how effective my tactic was.

I also made the team behind Luxaren Allure consider the idea of going back to rebalance a few of a few of their more powerful equips. Since, I actually managed to develop a strategy that would let me take down the game's final boss on the game's highest difficulty in under 7 minutes.

So even now a days you can find games where the developer didn't fully take into consideration just how broken their idea was. Though, I suppose in some cases that may have been the point. After all, I'd like to think the cheap power up items you can buy in Koli's Sorrow 2 was an aspect of the game that was meant to be abused.

Well, the game is fun despite its flaws, and your review and score are spot-on.

Thank you.
