If you put it in a word document and send bits and pieces to me at a time, I'll definitely help.

How long is the game? I don't have a ton of free time, but I might be able to help with it.

What Videogames Are You Playing Right Now?

Ruin Factory: Tides of Destiny

I've been wanting to check out this game for a while and my wife just got it for me soooo, I'll let you know how it is.

What are you thinking about? (game development edition)

I'm thinking of making a game like Ultimate Alliance but in RMVX, where you can choose from like 40 different marvel characters for your party.

A game with a good guild system?

I was wondering if anyone knew of any RMK games that have a good guild system? Like not just 'pick a job', but one where you have to go to a guild house to join the guild then level up at the guild. I remember a game a long time ago that had a great guild system but I don't remember what it was (not an MMO or RMK game).

What maker is that in?

What fascinates you the most in an RPG?

The plot and storyline are the most important to me. If the story is stupid, I'm going to stop playing the game.

The pace of the game is very important too. If the game is too slow (ie long cutscenes, long battles, too large of spaces between areas) I'm going to lose interest pretty fast. On the other hand if the game is too fast (small dungeons, easy boss battles, lack of exploration), it gets boring just as fast.

After that I'd say character growth, battle systems, graphics and music.

Yeah, I wish he was sideways facing, but the guy who made the battler for me makes them for the default view so I didn't want to say anything about it since he did it for free, ha.

I read your previous posts and you said it's supposed to be inside a cave. When it comes to inner maps usually they are filled with a dark or black tile surrounding the walls and inner tiles that's usually what gives that inner cave feel.

Not bad, but it still looks like an outdoor area. You need to 'close' the ceiling a lot more, if you know what I mean. I also liked the wooden stairs better but that's not an issue... Aside from this you're on the right track, just keep adding details as LockeZ suggested you and you're set.

I'm torn between which set of stairs I like more, the one has a more rugged look which fits the scene better, but the wooden ones are more visually appealing.

I would say all of them, as for the greens, I may be wrong, but Id say they're all good, plants are different from one another, and I find that variety, real and interesting.

I know that not everyone will think the map is the best it can be, but I like the idea of having the black tops for the interior rooms. I might add some more of the wall greens that were in the old picture and some of the floor divits as well. As far as closing the ceiling in more, I'll see what I can do on that, maybe add some stuff around the outside and a pillar or two in the middle of it. Thanks for the feedback!

EDIT: Ok so here is the recent update. Top is version 2, bottom is version 3.

How'd you decide on a game title?

"The Arms of Reverie" hints at two main points, but can really mean whatever you want it to.

The first is the idea that you can be 'in the arms' or reverie, or caught in a daydream. That while it can be wonderful and embracing, you really don't have much control over whats happening.

The second being that the 'arms' of reverie, are basically the weapons of thought. That daydreams can be brought to life if you act on them. You can get the courage to do something you've dreamed about if you give yourself the weapons to do it.

For me, finally bringing this story to life fulfills the second meaning. I worked on this story in my mind for quite some time before bringing it to paper, then to rmk. As I work on it, this daydream is now taking on physical form and can stand on its on.

The characters in the game also deal with a bunch of situations and find themselves both caught 'in the arms of reverie' and giving 'arms' to their dreams.
