Seraphic Blue (セラフィックブルー) is a 50+ hour epic RPG made by Tempura in RPG Maker 2000 v1.51, and is highly-received in the Japanese RPG Maker community, most notably for its story. It has 2 versions: the original (made in 2004) and Director's Cut (made in 2006). The version translated here is Director's Cut.

Seraphic Blue is well-known for its
- Deep and intriguing atypical dark storyline with a deep underlying message
- Highly creative custom battle and menu systems
- Flexible equipping with the Sphere System
- Precise cutscene transitions and dialogue pauses, making the cutscenes feel more alive.
- Custom artworks to accompany some cutscenes
- Awesome music and well-used sound effects
and many more.

Sample in-game video of Seraphic Blue:

NOTE1: This is NOT created by me. It is created by a man named Tempura (known as Sakaki in the game credits). I am the sole translator of this game (with kumada as the proofreader), and I have permission to translate this game from Tempura himself. Credits to Tempura and his team for creating such an awesome game :)

Blog 42: Revised Title Screen

Hi everyone!

Well, this blog serves to talk about a minor revision to the title screen. I've been meaning to revise the text in the title screen 'cause, you know, the Engrish options that are New-Birth of Blue, Revive of Blue and Away from Blue. And so today, I've done just that and you can see the revised title screen:

I wanted to keep the "Blue" part, so only the 1st two options have been revised. Let me know what you all think if you will, but I think I'm pretty satisfied with this version and if nothing else, I will put this as the new title screen for this game.

I happened to realize something...

I always thought ATKWT was the sole determining factor for more turns, man was I wrong this whole time. Agility was the key factor.

I guess it can be summed up with this Image:

We all know Lansard is abysmally slow, I always thought slapping on Attack Accelerators and the Gear of Infinite Cycles would relegate the problem.

Whoah. This is finished?

Gonna have to set aside some time to play through it.

Awesome work, Eplipswich.
Haha, thanks kumada. In fact, I'm now already embarking on my 2nd game translation. Feel free to check it out: http://rpgmaker.net/games/7809/

I have a good feeling that my 2nd game translation will be a lot better than the 1st. :)

Your first game translation was getting pretty damn good where I left off, and I still need to play through the rest of SB.

Nocturne looks awesome, though. I'll have to check it out.

RATS, never thought to look for a BlueFlower in the house :(
That's why I like the SAVE in the same screen as all the other things like
Equipment, Items and so on :)
Not easy being old and trying to remember to look for a darn flower :)

I just started the game, played for about 1hr.
Saved at the Blue Flower in the building as the lady.
Have not seen another save point so far and after playing for about that hour....
I got dead :(

Are there many Blue Flower save points or am I destined to die and replay the same scene over and over and......???? :)

Eh, I think by now, you would have taken control of the blue-haired man named Lake, right (after the long cutscene involving the blue-haired lady and a cutscene involving Lake and the doctor)? There should be a Blue Flower in the house where you first control Lake (to be more specific, https://youtu.be/gdscNsxnqvM?t=32m1s).

And if I recall correctly, you can't die when you're in control of the blue-haired lady before Episode 1.

Actually, I noticed Seraphic Blue has a Japanese wikipedia page: ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seraphic_Blue. If anyone has the time, please translate it to English.

In the walkthrough so far, I finished Episode 30. Been a bit slow due to some issues IRL. I am doing a 2nd playthrough which is giving me a first hand experience.

Regarding Episode 30:
If there is one thing in RPGs I despise, it's when people put in a BS mechanic that makes things much more difficult than intended, I understand why you get affected by an outside object randomly in battle given when the episode takes place and it's setting, but I still think it's BS all the same.

Anyway, I am doing what I can regarding giving the people an idea of what attacks enemies use. If they use it the first time in the guide, I also added a description of what it does.

Also, the link for the fonts seems to be broken :/ (but the font patch one is still good)

Ok, noted on the fonts. I guess this is because of the new official release of RPG Maker 2003 that the old utilities have been removed. I'll update the link after work tonight.

And I didn't know that FullPackageFlag=1 works on RPG Maker 2000 v1.51. It certainly didn't work for the original RPG Maker 2000 (the one by Don Miguel; Seraphic Blue was made using v1.51). Good to know. :)
Oh yeah, I also added this to the shortcut to rpg_rt.exe that I made so that it would run in window mode by default (it looks better that way on my machine). In the target field I have:
"[your file path here]\RPG_RT.exe" "blabla" "dsfgsdg" "Window"

Note that the "blabla" and "dsfgsdg" fields are just fillers that don't really do anything but they are necessary as fillers (any string will do) for it to work.
Just a couple quick things:
For windows 7 & 8 I had to add the following line to RPG_RT.ini for it to work:
FullPackageFlag=1
This simply tells it not to try and look for the rtp package (as it is included in the game files).

What perplexes me though is how the hell do you get the Reviver in Mendoza on your first visit, I couldn't even figure out how to get to it. (If I knew it was there, and how to get it, I would have had an easier time on Carnivore in my first playthrough.)

You mean the one across the river? In that case,

you can actually hop across the stones. There's 1 spot where you can do that.
Current Status:

Walkthrough is coming along solid, I got most of the sphere's covered (Ability, Tactical, and Invest have been completed). As I said before I intend to minimalize spoilers, if Eplipswitch wants to edit it, when I am finished, I will pass it to him and see if he wants to make any additions before the final version is released I didn't add the little thing on the upper right corner about the type of item in the item descriptions, as they are already separated by type on the Walkthrough

I am including strategies about how to tackle the bosses if you are stuck.

I really don't know if I can make a Bestiary for the Walkthrough as I may not have the time nor patience, but if one wants to tackle that, I am more than willing to let them try.

I accidently sold doris's robe is there anything i can do to replace it in that building i need one more slot for concentration spehere but i've filled up the rest sighs i replaced the academy robe with a gold robe not thinking then sold the academy robe if the academy robe was the only best item for her in the game you should of made that slot unchangeable or atless provide information on the item name that its the only best armor piece for her at that this time ?

There are far better robes than what she has at the start. The Crystal Robe you get later on has the same slot amount as the Academy Robe. (Episode 31). There are also other robes which are found in a late game dungeon and is a drop later on from a late game enemy. In fact, The best gear in the game can be gotten from enemies in the last areas.

Also when you look at the character's stats before you equip, you can see the changes. Never mess with SPC amount unless you get gear with higher ones; it's a far more important stat.
