Seraphic Blue (セラフィックブルー) is a 50+ hour epic RPG made by Tempura in RPG Maker 2000 v1.51, and is highly-received in the Japanese RPG Maker community, most notably for its story. It has 2 versions: the original (made in 2004) and Director's Cut (made in 2006). The version translated here is Director's Cut.

Seraphic Blue is well-known for its
- Deep and intriguing atypical dark storyline with a deep underlying message
- Highly creative custom battle and menu systems
- Flexible equipping with the Sphere System
- Precise cutscene transitions and dialogue pauses, making the cutscenes feel more alive.
- Custom artworks to accompany some cutscenes
- Awesome music and well-used sound effects
and many more.

Sample in-game video of Seraphic Blue:

NOTE1: This is NOT created by me. It is created by a man named Tempura (known as Sakaki in the game credits). I am the sole translator of this game (with kumada as the proofreader), and I have permission to translate this game from Tempura himself. Credits to Tempura and his team for creating such an awesome game :)

Blog 42: Revised Title Screen

Hi everyone!

Well, this blog serves to talk about a minor revision to the title screen. I've been meaning to revise the text in the title screen 'cause, you know, the Engrish options that are New-Birth of Blue, Revive of Blue and Away from Blue. And so today, I've done just that and you can see the revised title screen:

I wanted to keep the "Blue" part, so only the 1st two options have been revised. Let me know what you all think if you will, but I think I'm pretty satisfied with this version and if nothing else, I will put this as the new title screen for this game.

Played through the whole water city dungeon....Didnt save.....Boss used some spit move on first attack....Game couldnt find item....Game shut down, what a drag.
Thank you so much for being so sexy awesome.. If I recall correctly I did just do a font patch on a different game just before playing this one.. Thanks again.
This topic should help you, lolina:

The most probable problem is that your file system may be corrupted. Follow the instructions in the last few posts, notably the one by Atavus Dei.

Also, uninstall FontFix if you have installed it. That is most probably the one that caused the problem in the first place.
Hmm. Where are you putting the fonts? What's the file path?

If the text boxes are coming up blank, that usually means the game's not finding the font.
Yep it says those fonts are already installed.. I have no idea what is going on. I just keep seeing completely blank text boxes. I even deleted the old fonts and reinstalled them with yours and nothing happened.

Is there a specific reason why I cannot see any of the text in-game? I looked for fonts to install thinking that maybe that was the problem but to no avail.. This game looks like it has a great story and I would hate to miss out on it.

Is your computer set in English? If it is, try downloading and installing the fonts below. These are the fonts that you need:

Have to say I'm really impressed with the new translation so far (just got to Episode 11). Everything sounds so much more natural now. Well done to both of you!

Thank you! kumada and I will continue to churn out smooth-flowing cutscenes as the game goes along. :)
Thank you!

Honestly, though, eplipswitch does all the heavy lifting. Most of what I do is polish. :)

Hm, I was playing the latest download and I'd restarted the game to remind myself of what was going on, but I ran into an error message that crashes the game when using the inn at East Continental Port. Might want to fix that!

Doh. Apparently I changed the East Continental Port inn name but forgot to update and rename the file in the download. The file is actually in the Picture folder named "II_East Sea_Dreams". Change the "Dreams" to "Fantasy" and it'll be fixed.

I'll update the download accordingly as well.

EDIT: Download updated.

Hey Eplipswitch, I just wanted to thank you real quick for translating this magnificent game. This post is actually sort of derivative (because I'm planning to do a full review over the next few days), but despite some problems with the gameplay I think it's one of the best stories ever told in a video game. I've been studying Japanese for about two years--not long enough to read it well, but just enough to really appreciate how ambitious/difficult it must have been to work on this.

Right now I just got to the epic cutscene at the end of chapter 18, where Lake's narrative cuts off and it switches to a new character (I think). I saw you made a blog post about retranslating certain parts as well. Since this seems like the perfect cut-off point, would you suggest stopping here to wait for the final version, or playing to the end of everything that's translated?

Hey icovoc, thanks for trying out the game and enjoying it! Yeah, Episode 18 is really the epic episode. The remaining episodes after that are not exactly as epic (except for maybe some notable scenes for Episode 21, 22 and 24. Still not as epic though). It's your choice, but yeah, stopping at 18 would be good as it will allow me and kumada to further improve on the episodes after 18.

That said, I look forward to you playing the final version and the review soon! :)

By the way, kumada has posted a very nice walkthrough on how to clear the Chaos of Envy section, but for those who want a video walkthrough, here it is from LunaticScreamer :)

Note that Episode 14 all the way to 17 are not yet re-translated, so Eat the Meat is to be known as Carnivore in the future.

EDIT: In case anyone is wondering why the damage on Lake is lower than expected, it's because Lake is equipped with Fire Elemental Def +20 spheres and 1 Double Invest (Element) sphere to boost Lake's fire resistance. The Carnivore and the Meat Maniacs are mainly fire-elemental, so that's why.

Ah crap... That doesn't help me with the meat maniacs... I'm really not looking forward to this -_-

Actually, I did pull it off without a Reviver before (if not a number of times. It's possible, just that more strategy is involved). I should do a recording of that when I have the free time soon. I think LunaticScreamer also pulled it off without a Reviver, if I recall correctly.

You can get it later with no problem. I think its in Mendoza (the village before the tree) you have to cross the river with some platforms made of grass to get it.
Laurentia was the giant tree right? I think I accidentally saved over any file I had from before Lake's revival.
I think the reviver was somewhere in Laurentia, but my memory could be totally wrong on that. You don't need it to complete the section. You actually might be able to do okay with some evasion boosts for the meat maniacs. This is purely theory, since I've never tested it, but they should have a way lower accuracy attribute than Carnivore did.
