[Recruitment] Thank you sir, may I have some badasses?

I think it should be based more on mutual motivation about a project. Having a deadline helps, but also it's usually a good idea to have team members that have the drive but lack compatible resources. Example; one of my latests projects (a collab one) utilized a writer because my writing is awful, and that person got a chance to make a game and not have to worry about the mechanics and programming.

I'm actually in another similar situation on a newer collab project where I'm working with someone who has abilities I severely lack, and I bring a skill to the table that they can't easily find either.

I've noted that in the times I've worked with others successfully, we've each been the "head" of our own areas. I didn't mess with the story, world, or characters in my recent collab, I'd offer my thoughts once in awhile, but left it up to that person. Conversely I only got normal player feedback regarding mechanics that I created, they didn't try to tell me how to run that aspect. We each had freedom to express our own ideas and creativity without having to feel stifled. (Though some aspects we DID collaborate on for various reasons.)

Motivation and Freedom are, I think, the two most important aspects you need to look for to make a collaboration successful.

(I don't remember more than a vague comment that you'd be willing to work on something with me sometime way in the past, so I'm pretty sure I didn't reject anyone, thought that might have been reference to someone else instead.)

Are you interested in having a release? (something)

Too many games are in a working state to even have a small release with such short notice, it'd be a bit random.

Why not come at this from the reverse angle; instead of trying to get people to release stuff, why not reward those that have?

Maybe some kind of "Recent" release list that spotlights actual content releases and not blogs about releases, new ideas, etc. Like a miniature version of the Featured games.

Maybe have a 2x2 grid of one random screenshot or the default screenshot of any games that have recent content updates, etc? (like the random screenshot bit, that drew a lot of attention and made the bored people click it, so I hate to see that successful user-testing go to waste.)

If people can get a very visible spot by releasing materials they'd likely be more apt to do so. Problem would be deciding if they've actually released content or not. Maybe an approval like the reviews require?

Frontpage Tweaks

Whenever I went to the front page (which is how I always loaded the site) the random screenshots were the first place my eyes went.

Now they just kinda unfocus and I forget why I went there and just close it. Although I've loaded the front page 4 times, I could not tell you what even one of the updates was anymore, I just... didn't notice or care. Just another list, and a boring looking one at that.

Now I'll load the page, and if my "Notices" aren't blinking, probably just close it. :P (Instead of checking out a screenshot or two.)

I actually liked the effect.

Comment Notices Removed

Would like them returned as an option (or NOT an option even.) I loved the feature.

I could decide what to look at before, but now I don't have that option anymore.

@WIP: But it's gone right now, after we had it, and we don't know what we're getting back or when.

Sure, why not?

Sign me up, Scotty.

Cast Aside

No need to do that, I don't think it'd help at all. :)

Excellent, thank you!

The error message will allow me to (at the very least) put a catch in there so there are no more fatal crashes.
