ANIMEBRYAN'S PROFILE

I had to "Old Yeller" my old laptop, a laptop that has given me a decade of entertainment, became the ultimate retro console thanks to emulators, and has allowed me to pursue my dream of being a game designer with both RPG Maker & SMBX. Now, ALL of that work, is gone. This is not how my 40th birthday should be. I am dead inside now. I just don't give a shit about anything anymore ;_;

Star Stealing Prince

I've gotten to the top of the Western Tower & I have to say, that Zodiac Puzzle is pure BS! When you make a puzzle, make sure the solution can be found within the game itself! Not all of us have internet at home. I have to go to either a library 2 towns over or go to a friend's house to get on the internet & forcing someone to find the solution to that puzzle by "looking it up" is BS! What's worse, I can't seem to find what the words "slaughter" & "middle" mean in the Zodiac. I've been scavenging around Wikipedia for the answers but I don't know where to look!

Estopolus: Requiem of Spirits

Estopolus... Strange, sounds a lot like the Lufia series' Japanese name Estpolis.

RMVX Script Requests

Oops, but I'm sure there's one for normal VX as well. Oh, here it is. It took me a whole 3 minutes to find, too, checking google with = "RMVX" random dungeon "script" -VXA

Good luck on your game.

That's OK, I just got ahold of VX Ace now.

Name of proposed script:Randomly Changing Dungeons
Description: Looking for a script that makes maps randomly change each time they're entered, like the Ancient Cave from Lufia II. RPG Maker 2003 had this feature before but it was discontinued afterward. I'm making my own Ancient Cave & I'm having trouble finding a way to randomize the floor with each entry.
Features/Functionality desired:
  • Passages generated need to work around where ever I place events (such as chests, enemy locations, stairs, functioning tiles, etc.)
  • RPG Maker VX already asks you to choose a floor tile & ceiling & wall tiles, so the generator just needs to perform the "Generate Dungeon" effect each time it's entered.
  • Basiclly just needs to do exactly what the Random Dungeon Generator did in RM2k3

Examples/Mockups: N/A
There's one of these floating around somewhere. I'll have a look and get back to you.

Here it is: Random Dungeon Generator

Also, an edit that you might find of interest: Here~

The demo was made for VX Ace & requires the RTP, so I assume the script was made in Ace. Is the script even compatible with VX?

Game Manger

I think you mispelled Manager.

Super RMN Bros. 3

I'm with Hali on this one. If he has a RMN All-Stars in mind, its best to let him do it, especially if it's considered an "official" project. Link, since you just want to make your own personal remix of it, just find a different name, there's no point having 2 RMN All-Stars games, that's just confusing. Looking forward to both RMN All-Stars & RMN World soon!

I'm mean.

Pro tip #2: jumping up ladders is faster than climbing them!

Pro tip #3: holding up while swimming lets you ascend faster!

Pro tip #4: you only need three mushroom blocks near the end if you jump with momentum!

Pro tip #5: the mushroom blocks are spaced just right that you can throw them to stack them!

Best of luck to you.

Even using all of those tricks there still isn't enough time to complete it. Its not the phsyical difficulty thats the problem, it's that the time limit is too short. That's why I cheated by taking out the lava walls, no lava walls, no time limit, but then once you get the fairy you could just hug the edge of the screen & make it all the way without a problem.

Finally completed this game. I think Eli's Fortress made up for the frustrations and turmoil that I've endured with the last two worlds.

I was indifferent to Spinning Hazard complaints until I actually played it. Honestly, I like the concept behind it, but did it have to be as hard as it was? I felt that there was such a huge chance factor to it, like if you are going up a slope you have to make sure the second sawblade doesn't cross through you while you're spin-jumping, and there were blades going in the opposite direction to your path!? That level was hell on earth.

There were other levels, such as the one where you are in the clouds and a wall was chasing you, that were just as needlessly difficult as well. I wonder if there is an article on how to make your game harder without ruining the fun of your game, because many of the levels of the last two worlds did that for me.

You "completed" it? Did you get ALL the stars? Did you get The Impossible Star?
