An N64 Mini? Does it have 21 good games?

I find your lack of Pilot Wings disturbing.

>The folks dismissing your game as "just an RPG Maker game" were never a potential sale.

What makes you say that?

>And in many instances, these types of players tend to be the most vocal, so i'd like to think there aren't as many of them as it appears.

That may be true, but it's hard to know to what extent it actually happens. I think the times this was brought up probably is over-represented, you're right. But there's no good way to tell what the hit rate actually is.

>Everyone is having this problem, not just RM devs. "lol game maker" and "lol unity" are phrases I see all too often these days. And I think if people had a better understanding of how much work goes into making a game, regardless of engine, we wouldn't see nearly as much of it.

Well, that's true, but the instant dismissal because of which engine something wasn't made in certainly isn't spread out evenly across engines. To be fair, it's hard to fault customers for feeling that way about RPG Maker.

Ara Fell

I'd say fully half the people I've read commenting about the game recognized it as an RPG Maker project, and half of them recognized it as rm2k3. Tons of people added the qualifier "this is great for an RPG Maker game."

I have to think that if it wasn't made in rm2k3 and/or not with free-to-use graphics, a good chunk of the people who instantly dismissed this as an RM game would have been more inclined to give it a shot. Nevermind that much of the video games news media we contacted turned us down explicitly for that reason.

It definitely had a significant impact. Just how significant, I'm not sure, but significant nonetheless.

Ara Fell

>How so? It isn't because you made this in 2k3, is it?

And that we use a lot of free-to-use graphics, I think.

> I don't recall any other RPG Maker JRPGs comparable to Ara Fell that received nearly as much (positive) reviews on Steam as Ara Fell did - apart from Skyborn maybe.

I was very concerned that the various flaws in RM2k3 would sink us. I was ecstatic to see us above 80% positive on Steam, let alone currently sitting at 94%

Thank you, I'm glad!

If you get the inclination, please leave a little review on Steam (if you bought it there) or here on RMN. We're still struggling to be taken seriously and every review makes us seem more legitimate.

I don't know what the biggest size you can use for RMN is, but 640w fits nicely.

Other RPG Maker games that inspire you?

How petty is it that any time something like this comes up, I just sulk until somebody mentions Ara Fell. Fairly petty? Like 8/10 petty?

Other RPG Maker games that inspire you?

The only RPG maker games I can really remember being inspired by was Lun Calsari's Crestfallen way back on RPG Maker 95+, and then Bloodrose's Until My Finest Hour. Crestfallen was nicely written (as I recall, I haven't played it in years and have no idea if it actually holds up) and very well designed, considering the limitations of RM95+. UMFH was the first RPG Maker game that seemed epic to me.

There are various other moments in RPG maker games that were inspiring here and there, but I can't really remember anything specific... The opening to Phylomortis II maybe?

Running or swimming?

Honestly, diet is way more important than exercise for weight management. Exercise is important for overall health, but the more you exercise, the hungrier you'll be.

Cut out carbs and count calories to lose weight. Exercise to get in shape.

The official English 2k3 version is out!

Awesome work, Cherry! I'm really glad the d-pad and audio options are able to be included for all rm2k3 users, and not just Ara Fell. Definitely an important update here for anyone that uses rm2k3, and I am super happy that you're still able to work on this.

Thank you!
